Im a transferr from store to DC. I just made it through all my interviews and they want to approve my transfer but I have to pass a physical for wearhouse worker. I'm currently a backroom tm and have worked for target for 6years. I guess I'm just nervous becouse I'm type 1 diabetic and hope that won't hurt my chances of passing. I'm a physical person and pretty much have my sugars in check. I guess what I want to know is what kind of physical tests I'll be doing? I just have a lot riding on this job.

Been awhile but I think all they really check is your heart rate after you do a little workout to get your heart pumping. It's nothing too big imo, and I cant say for sure that being diabetic is a problem but I don't think it is. I used to joke with the people I work with that the work I did in the store was harder then what I do in the warehouse (sometimes true, others.. not even close).

Welcome to the DC side of target, its alot better then the store imo. Just work really hard during your 90, it will pay off in the long run. ALSO! enjoy that 6 years of seniority, you just got yourself and extra week of vacation a year since your over 5 years : D ( I hit my 6 year this year : )

If it's in check, I don't see why they'd not approve based on diabetes. The physical abilities test (at least the one I took) is two parts: aerobics and lifting. For both you wear a heart monitor. For the first part you go up and down a step stool to the tune of a metronome at various paces. Second part you lift a weighted box with proper form between various heights with use of a step stool. They don't disclose what the pass/fail heart rate is, but judging by some of the people I've seen get into Outbound, if you don't have a coronary during the test you should be fine. I too also was a long-time BRTM before coming to DC-side. Your first 90 will likely be hellish, especially if you go OB, but just stick with it and do your best. Seniority really pays off DC-side. As Trowa mentioned, you'll accumulate more vacation, get first picks on when you want your vacation, want cross-training, specialty-training, or post to another department. Welcome to the other side of the fence.

Thanks guys. It's hard not to stress about taking stress test. However I am concerned about the metronome. I have no rhythm :/ and has for ladders I'm not terrible but I'm not great either I'm getting better however the more I've been in the backroom.

Well I took it. Not as bad as I thought but shedid have to stop me twice i on a box lifting exercise to let my heart rate go down a little. Hopfully this dosent mean I wount get the position. :/

I think you might just have to have a doc clear you. Not 100%.

Just to find average time for how quick your heart rate increases.
