Can someone explain to me why items on an endcap can be found using NOP (correct location and POG#) but cannot be found using Item Search? And how do I fix this?

NOP was always better than item search.
I'm pretty sure TiedAndDropped is right in that it updates right away.

Haven't checked recently, but I seem to remember that NOP updates instantly when you tie a pog, but Item Search can take a while before the new tie shows up.
NOP is instant. It's useful when you want to double check if your pogs tied on the spot.

I could be wrong, but are you talking about double locations? Item Search (under help guest) has double locations listed, you just have to click on the Sales Floor Location (i believe). NOP you just hit (D) down.

But, to everyone's point. NOP is GOD. Use it.

Thank you! My supervisor asked me this so now I have something to tell her. Thank you so much!

If you want to WOW your supervisor.....

Look for something that looks like this..... on NOP, when you click (D) down

A119FJI No Locations 1-2-3 9/10/2014

It kinda looks like that....

The 9/10/2014 is when that product is due to set (this item is on an endcap).

You can often tell if a sales planner was missed and not set.

To clarify.....I know that NOP updates instantly because I tie revisions and pogs every day and immediately use NOP to see what stays, what goes, and what moves.

The only thing I'm not positive about is how long Item Search takes to update.

And yes, NOP is God. One of my favorite things is to see a newbie pushing reshop in Item Search, and showing them how much faster it is in NOP.

I still use NOP a lot, but I've gotten to the point where I use item search more often than not (depending on the task, and only if I have a 9200). I love the Sales Floor tab for item search since it shows two locations per page (less keystrokes) and it gives you visibility as far as capacities. I can immediately see that a capacity is off, and then jot it down for a mySupport later.

As a backroom/log person, I favor RF apps heavily. But item search really is the bees knees. It gives you an incredible amount of information if you understand how to use it. It can tell you when a product was pulled, received, last shot. It can give you on order and on withdrawals for both the store and the DC, to help you estimate lead times on key items (like ad paper or bulk water). It may not seem important, but when guests are looking for things like sale water or sale paper, they come specifically to the store to get it. If you don't have it, but you can tell them with confidence when you will, they are far more likely to return. It helps you drive traffic and ultimately gets you more payroll.

Ha, I remember myself doing that. I was like oh... that purple app, ok!!

Enjoy RF apps while you still have it. Already lost SUBT & SCNT to WebApps. Only a matter of time before it disintegrates completely and it becomes a memory... :(

OK. I checked out the items again. They're showing on NOP (and yeah, I know how to read it) and it's showing up in items search. However, in the items search, it's showing 0 location on the sales floor and in the backroom and this is me scanning the barcode on the label on the sales floor. Why is this happening?

Is the planogram tied? If it's not tied then it will not show a sales floor location in item search. If you hit the book button and select the sales floor or POG option, you have visibility to untied or upcoming planograms.

Sorry for not responding sooner. I was waiting to talk to the TL (not my direct supervisor but a friend) about this. HQ has gotten back to her and told her that it's company-wide. I don't know if it has been fixed or not but if I hear any word from her about it, I'll come back to this thread and post. Thanks for all the help!!
