I've gotten a few handwritten, mailed thank you notes from the STL, and once she sent me a $15 Darden gift cert which was awesome because my favorite chain restaurant happens to be a Darden brand. (Seasons 52)

i'm sure our 549 account has been long gone. Our stl doesn't care and if this is what it takes to get our conversion to where it needs to be that's what he wants done.

Same at our store. But I hate it. Because first, the cashiers will inform you they got a REDcard and then in the next breath ask what their prize is. And second, if the prize isn't good enough, then they start complaining.

For example...one week last week we were giving the cashiers a choice. If they got a REDcard, they got their pick of a $10 AMC gift card or a &15 Red Robin gift card. Most of our cashiers loved it. Then one of our REDcard princesses got one. When I informed her of her choice, she said she wanted something else. Umm..no...these are what we have requisitioned out (they come in multiples), so pick one. She told me to ask the LOD (also the new GSTL that night). I informed her it was not the night to do this, we were $40,000 over goal and we were all barely keeping our heads above water. She "agreed" to wait until close to badger him. Whatever.

At close, after a really, really rough night, I informed the LOD of what he was getting himself into and that this happens quite often with a few of our cashiers. He looked at me like I had my head on backwards and told me to tell her that they could discuss it the next time they worked, because he wasn't dealing with it that night. I went and warned the cashier that tonight was not the night to play these games and she could talk to the LOD the next time they worked together. She told me that wasn't really fair, but she would accept that. Oy.

Two days later, we worked together again, and the cashier told me she had changed her mind and would take the $10 AMC gift card. I said ok, we both immediately forgot about it, and she never got it. At that point, I wasn't going to give it to her anyway because I don't do prizes days after the fact and she was going to have to talk to our ETL if she wanted to go explain to him why she hadn't gotten it that night. So for her pickiness, she got nothing.

Do your damn job. Ask every guest, and they will stay off your back...them leaving me alone about REDcards is all the reward I need.

HAHA i fucking love this!! my TL is like this, one time she was covering the GSTL's lunch and a cashier got a redcard, after the transaction she went up to my TL and told her. my TL said "Thanks for doing your job, whoop whoop!! Now if you can get back on a lane before we get backed up" thats fucking hilarious.

I have said this so many times to my team that they look forward to the games we play instead of the prizes!

I had a peer once ask the DFM (now FMBP) what kind of recognition he was going to get for being current on all his work orders.... DFM Answer.... "You'll be paid on Friday"

I forgot about the "get to know you" questions. Anybody got a copy? I remember when I first started at Target, my GSTL gave me one. I diligently filled it out, gave it back to her, and she looked at me as if I was crazy. Needless to say, no recognition I ever got even slightly related to my answers. Yay, Target.

I didn't even fill one out because I knew they wouldn't pay attention to it anyways.

It came down from our district absolutely no more gift cards for recognition. The tax issues made them put their hand down. :-(

When was this? We still give out gift cards regularly for red cards.

We're currently without an ETL-GE, but our biggest Kool-Aid-drinking ETL (who's running GE in the interim) just started a Red Card contest in which the prize is a gift card.

You should do something like "spot dollars". For every *increments of 1 2 or 3* redcards, you get so many "dollars". Once you earn so many dollars you can redeem for something from a prize list (food from cafe 10 bucks, shirts 20 bucks, pie an lod 50 bucks, take an extra 15 30 bucks etc.)

Copy the dollars on colored paper and have the etl, or TL sign the back of the dollars when they are handing them out.. this way TMs can't confiscate them from a drawer.. lol.

My store has finally ceased requisitioning Target GiftCards as recognition for gaining REDCards, after our REDCard Queen/Princess screamed at a few ETLs for refusing to requisition her a $20 GiftCard for all the REDCards she got one night. They offered her a free item up to $5 worth but no more and I guess things got heated from there.

So, STL says no more. Cashiers can get a drink or snack for every 3 REDCards but that is it. I should bring up some better ideas like what you guys have posted in this thread such as "Spot Bucks" or something.

We switched the name of ours to Bullseye Bucks. It just sounds better personally. Probably the repetitive B's.. Our latest reward? Watching the ETL-HR wash our Electronics TMS car for getting 100 Bullseye Bucks. I just got a lunch from a restaraunt.. There's a million different options and if your ETLS are semi creative it'll be fun.

Our GSTL just went back to giftcards, but not $5 per redcard, weekly basis, each TM with at least 5 redcards in a week gets a giftcard equal to the # of redcards they got during the week when we get the weekly report.

10.000 Bullseye Bucks and you get that bottle of Glenlivet 18?
