There's a rumor going around at our store that some time soon Target Mobile will be taking over all of electronics. Is this true? If so, what happens to the current electronic tm's?

Seems really unlikely since as far as I know they technically don't work for Spot.
Unless there have been some major changes since I was working there this seems really unlikely.
Maybe taking over selling certain items?
ae15 here we come.

If only my store had Target Mobile. I'd say let them have it. I hate electronics.

How could Target mobile take over electronics? Don't they just sell cellphones? I work in softlines so I don't know for sure what they sell.

It is called "Electronics Experience" and has been getting tested out. Target Mobile is there from open to close (with mids because they don't use Target's bare minimum payroll) and are in charge of TONS more than phones. The department is restructured onto carpet (which they cover) and our team just worries about MMB and some random Electronics Aisles (the stuff that people don't buy as often).

Our Target mobile manager told me this is Marketsources end goal. It has been in the works for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised seeing how much of a profit they turn for Target.

Yes, what you're hearing about is the Electronic Experience remodel. Target will still staff two red shirts in the department every day, but it's mainly for the mmb areas, and zoning/reshop.

We should see the launch of 500 remodels per year until all locations are completed due to the success of the program.

If so i will be looking into moving to marketsource. I know their equivalent of DTL, and could easily make the transition. Plus dont they make commission on items other than Contract phones/prepaid phones at EE stores?

If we attach electronics items to mobile related sales, we can earn extra from selling electronics items based on how much we sell.

So.. related I guess because I didn't want to make a new thread for it:

How is working at Target Mobile? We've been through like 5 people since I started working at Target, but it seems like an easy job.

I honestly love it. Your experience will vary depending on where you are, but my location is extremely successful so I'm always kept busy. During slower times it can be a bit of a drag, but that's when I just turn my focus to helping electronics with aar and red cards.

Having worked for both Target and marketsource, I don't think I'd ever go back to wearing a red shirt. The scope of this job is just 100% different, and there's just so much more potential in moving up in this company if you're interested.

My store doesn't even have Target Mobile, but like I said let them have it so I don't have to work it anymore...

I hope not. Electronics is my favorite department to work in. I'm at a different store now and I'm slowly transitioning back to Electronics.

Hmm, that's not right. They get commission on top of hourly pay surely. Ours regularly mentions that he gets OT, and that he had more hours at time and a half the week of thanksgiving than at regular pay.

Yep they get paid a regular salary + commission. Have talked to various target mobile people about how much they make lol

We have 3 Target Mobile TM's, but one of them is the equivalent of a TL or similar, and he works more than the other two combined, and apparently makes way more than our TL's after the commission because he leads our district for commission sales.

Claimed to have made about $3,000 for the two week period that included BF.
