Hey guys... I'm covering electronics tomorrow, but my electronics training isn't until next week. So, can you give the rundown on a few things?

1. A breakdown of the service plans. Which one is which/for which product, etc?
2. When I need something big/expensive from the backroom, what do I do?
3. How do I handle CAFs, Re-shop, etc when I am with a guest pretty much every second? SHOULD I ASK FOR ASSISTANCE IF IT'S GETTING THAT BACKED UP?

Any other tips you want to throw my way would be awesome too. Thanks in advance!

Very good questions @joshp14 .

1. The description on the cover of the service plan will pretty much what products they cover. If you open to the inside cover of it, they will you what issues they can be used for and on the back of the service plan, it will tell you how much it is per price point. Make sure that you scan the correct barcode (the one with the correct price point) and then the activation barcode in order for it to work.

2. If you need something from the backroom (at least in my store), we electronics TMs have keys for the lockup. We can just go in there if we know how to pull it and do it properly but if you are not sure or it is busy, just call backroom on Ch. 2 and request it to be pulled.

3. If you do get that backed up, do not be afraid to ask for help.

Here is just about everythong you will need to know.
There are 4 service plans.
orange is for basic wear and tear for 2 years on items under $200
prices are based on item price <50 is $4 50- 99.99 is $7 100-199.99 is $17. easy sells are earphones, portable speakers, and blu-ray/dvd players. ask for all items whether prompted or not.
blue is for normal wear and tear on items above $200 check the back of the card for prices . easiest sell is on tvs especially westinghouse and element tvs.
green is for gaming consoles. it covers normal wear and tear as well as drops, cracks, and spills , and it protects up to 5 games. This is great for the ds consoles.
Black is for cameras it covers drops cracks and spills. this is a pretty easy sell for small point and shoot digitals. ther is also a purple one for laptops and tablets, but that is next to impossible to sell.
The most important thing about electronics is AAR ( accessories and replacements) it is based on main items and accessories which are called attachments. the main items are
TVS
cameras
game consoles
laptops
DVD/BLU RAY players
pre paid cell phones
ipads and tablets
gps systems
printers.
there attachments are
game consoles: games, extra controllers, pre orders, online network cards, and for ds systems cases.
TVS: sound bars, rokus, chrime cast, hdmi cables, componet and composite cables, wall mounts.
cameras: cases, sd cards. these are the easiesyt for aar most cameras requote a sd cards
Laptops: cases, mouses. usb drives, laptop chargers.
DVD/ BLU RAY players : BLU RAY movies. dvds dont count. its best to stear those to the checklanes to protect your score.
pre paid cellphones: airtime cards. a note for these. they are not unlocked you have to buy service from the respective carrier. we do not activate or add the airtime for the guest.
ipads and tablets : cases, earphones, itunes, google play cards, screen protectors.
Gps systems: mounts. update cards.
Printers: ink, and all computer peripherals. the goal score is 65% to be green. replacement plans count for all items even non main items. suggestive selling is the best way to get attachments.. for example if a guest is buying a printer suggest they buy ink for it, because tge includex ink is only a sample. for tablets suggest a case, especially ipads, because the screen is prone to shattering. all main items work like that.
For big/ expensive items there are two scenarios. the first is where you will have the electronics stockroom attached to the department. In that case you can pull the item yourself. to do that you will need a pda ( not a mydevice). to pull go to all apps scroll down to subt. press it scan the item barcode. a screen will pop up press guest/ salesfloor request . then scan the location then type in the amount your taling from the location then press ent. If the stockroom is not attached you will need to call backroom. they are usually on channel 2 . give them the dpci and they will send it to the baler.
as usual cafs take priority. if you have high dollar stuff like beats, ipads, tvs etc. . work those to the floor first , then go for the bigger stuff, and finally the movies and books. Guest service comes first, but try to be finished with push by 7. if youre finished with push then start your re-shop. generally you will also be responsible for zoning. work the reshop out as you zone. If you have more than 2 guests who need some thing press the back up button until you get a response. product knowledge is important so here are answers to some of the most popular questions. on the tv wall what does hz stand for.. it means hertz it is the refreh rate per second 120 is the highest we carry. Do apple products have expandable storage? no they do not. what is the best brand of tvs? Samsung is the highest rated. the best values we have is usually vizio high quality good pricing. What does dslr stand for? digital singal lense reflex, these cameras take the best pictures. What is your return policy. for electronics it is 30 days just keep the receipt and packaging. on movies, games, and software it is same item only if opened.
electronics is usually a hotbed for fraud and theft so here is some security tips. giftcard fraud is a huge thing especially with visa prepaid, so use the middle register when possible. if you think it was fraud call ap switch chanels and let them know. if the guest is behaving suspiciously dont take off security wraps until after the payment goes through. be sure all pegs are locked and watch for tags left on them. use cihyfs as much as possible it is good guest service and deters theft.
on your first day you will probably be working with another electronics tm. Hope this helps and good luck.
