I assume the lpda is the small one without the handle. Checklanes and the ETL's are always fighting flow/backroom over them, even when the ones with the handles are there.

is there a difference in function or something? I've used both for the backroom and as far as i can tell, they both do the same thing, hell, the pda has a keypad which makes it easier to use

There the same its just the size. The lpda is smaller with the little holster vs the PDA with the utility belt. I hate the PDA that I constanly check the equipment room for a lpda or see if a tm with a lpda is leaving soon

EDIT: only difference is the lpda vibrates when it gets alerts hence why leaders want that one.

You're correct in your assumption. Other than that there is no real functional difference besides pdas being easier for back room because of their full keyboard. Our store typically uses pda for both.

I haven't tried on an lpda yet, but on a PDA it says redwire can only be used on an lpda.

Which will be a moot point when we get in the fleet of iPods with redwire routing alerts to the appropriate teams on myDevice. Hopefully the 9200s will still get alerts for flexible fulfillment.

Does redwire work on the lpdas? I might try it out tonight. If I can...

The main difference between the PDAs and LPDAs, other than the size and shape, is that alerts are (mostly) functional on LPDAs. Leaders and the on-duty GSTL/GSA should use a LPDA if possible so they can receive alerts.

I almost always use an LPDA and it always says something like "cannot find redwire.exe." I don't know if it's because it hasn't actually rolled out to my store or because I am not actually a TL (even though I log in as a TL so I can check sales and stuff).

I'm a PA and LOVE using a LPDA and almost always use one.

For some reason they seem to load doing the Pfresh order faster. They also allow me to more easily QMOS/Shoot Labels for TPCs toggling at the same time.

And, since I work in Market, and have to move at Mach 10 speed at all times, a Big PDA is like having a club foot hanging off your waist swinging around like a projectile, its dangerous.

LPDA has terrible lag when using SDA. It's like it can't hold anything in the buffer when entering dates. You have to out them in one digit at a time, waiting for the app to update between each digit. At least this is the case on my network.
