    Archived Favoritism

Same company, close enough! My old ETL-HR got caught getting down and dirty in her office... Didn't get fired. Got transferred after a few months. We also had an ETL screwing a pharmacy team member... Gave her an STI. She got fired for telling the ETL-HR about it. He stayed for another year...

    Archived Goodbye Dollar Spot!

We had one of two problems at my old store: Too much product and not enough space, or not enough product and too many empty spaces. Flexing was a nightmare and a lot of the time, our flow team just dumped product on top of another product without caring if it was the same or even the correct...

    Archived Favoritism

The store I used to work at had a lot of favoritism. STL and GSTL super close. That same GSTL is super close with a GSA. Both the GSA and GSTL are terrible performers who only start drama, create a hostile work environment, and never hold themselves or each other accountable. That same GSA is...

    Archived Fired for nothing?

There just has to be more to this story. I've had cashiers who, from guest perspective and their own perspective, would be top performers, but from a leadership point of view were nothing of the sort. I'm not saying you are one of those, but in Target, perception is everything, and if your...

Archived I'm moving, how do I resign?

Just ask any HR team member for a resignation form. It asks a couple simple questions like "why are you leaving" and "what is the last day you can work". Turn it back into HR and you're done.

    Archived 99.5% Chance I'm Fired.

Blessing in disguise. If they didn't fire you over this, they would have found another reason to down the line.

    Archived Family working with family!

Our flow ETL has a daughter on dayside. There's a husband and wife in softlines and instocks. Brothers in flow. Engaged couple in sales floor and market. Sisters in softlines. A brother is an LOD and sister is a GSA. Some are in different work centers, but they work together on occasion. I feel...

Service & Engagement What's the point of trying anymore?

Ask about mentoring! Even if it isn't to pipeline you to the position you want, it's really great to help you develop. Ask your leaders for feedback consistently too, and even if you don't like what they say or you feel it's untrue, prove them wrong. It's hard, I won't pretend it isn't, but if...

    Archived Curious about GSA schedules?

Our GSA/GSTL schedule is set for the most part. The GSTLs are always that, and the GSAs have one GSA shift and the rest are photo, cash office, or guest service. The only thing that isn't consistent is fridays because we all alternate. We originally had one GSTL and two GSA's on one weekend and...

    Archived Counterfeit bills?

For a while, we were supposed to take suspicious bills and tip off AP if the cashier told us after the incident. Eventually, that plan just wasn't working since shady people caught onto it (or someone tipped them off, not sure) and we were told to start telling cashiers to mark all 20's, 50's...

    Archived Curious about GSA schedules?

It's really interesting to see how differently stores operate! At our store, we have two GSTL's who are almost always scheduled as such, and three GSA's who have one set GSA day a week, and rotating weekends. Friday's alternate between all of them, closing or opening. The ones not being GSA/GSTL...

    Archived Cash office

As a GSA, I love my cash office days. Being away from the front end without being bothered constantly is nice. It's basically a break for me. It's a breeze once you get into your routine.

    Archived Curious about GSA schedules?

That's interesting. Our GSA's never get to leave the front end. If they aren't GSA, they're thrown somewhere else up front. I'm the only one trained for the floor, but I just took it upon myself to learn it. I never get scheduled there.

    Archived Curious about GSA schedules?

At my store, we only ever have two GSA/GSTL's scheduled per day to open and close (which I assume is the norm), so I'm just curious where your GSA's get scheduled when they aren't GSA that day? Is it strictly guest services, cashier, photo, or a mixture of those?
