Who recently quit at your store?

I work as a government regulator at one of the local casinos. I conduct investigations, run audits and verify gaming machine programs too ensure the integrity of the games, but I was mainly hired because I was good at speaking with and reading people. Probably why I was good at the Service...

Who recently quit at your store?

I quit. Eleven years at two stores in two states as Service Desk/Cash Office. Frankly I couldn't fit in at the 2nd store. I'm lucky and found a great position outside of retail/service industry and couldn't be happier. I have to admit my anxiety and stress levels have dropped to near zero.

    COVID-19 Masks and gloves

As of Saturday the 11th my store hasn't received masks or the plexiglass dividers. We have plenty of gloves, thank goodness. Our ETA keeps getting pushed back so who knows when we'll actually get them.

COVID-19 During emergency, suspend the price-match policy, and other suggestions

I was told they suspend RedCard goals a couple of days ago. In fact not one Leader said a thing about RedCards all day yesterday.

These are the Good Ole Days

I count the Good Old Days at Target when the motto was Fan, Fun and Friendly. The TMs were happy, the guests were happy and I assumed my leaders were happy. Now it's just seems as though the only one's that are happy are people above SD.

    Archived How to defect produce

We have a QMOS bin that Food and Beverage will take a few times a day from the Service Desk and they complete the defective process.

Service & Engagement Can I speak to a manager?: A front end thread

I've had a mother come in to return some items on her registry and the system would not let me return them through the registry. I called 718 to help with the returns and they told me that all the items we are attempting to return were added to the registry that very day and they could only use...

    Archived Do you miss...

No music at my store, the garden center just exists... it's can not be used for storage anymore and we have a Food Ave with Pizza Hut and a SBux. Oh, we have a photo center and it's still going strong.

Archived Forced to drink the Kool aid or get out.

ASANTS... yes, but the rumor is the DTL has told the leadership, get on board or jump ship. That would explain the huge loss of ETLs in our district.

Archived Hours cut - less tm's to handle work load

LOL Not in my district. There's a rumor going around that the DTL had told all the Store Directors (STLs) and Leaders (ETLs) to either get on board with the new program or jump ship. So far, around 13 ETLs have jumped ship since the new program came out. Everyone is stressed the fuck out, the...

Archived Who is in charge of Infant Hardlines at your store?

General Merch is in charge of infant hardlines now. You know.. because they didn't have enough to do already.

Archived Why did target fuck over the GSA position so much?

I know of only one person that was hired as a cashier, bumped to GSA then to GSTL, then to SrTL THEN became an ETL at a new Target Express store. In nine years of working for this company... one person.

Archived How Many Red Shirts and Khaki Pants do you Own?

6 red polos and 3 pairs of khakis. Before working at Target I had owned 1 pair of khakis and never had a red shirt.

Archived Ever found out a coworker led a secret life?

If by secret life you mean a TM who was a thief that stole $1000s in stoftlines that she kept in the trunk of her car.. then yes me and the entire store found out when she was arrested in the parking lot by the sheriff's deupties.

    Archived The Yes Desk

I remember when Vibe came out years ago and the GE-ETL wanted the Service Desk to be the yes desk. AP put a stop to that pretty quick, especially when we were getting scammed left and right because everyone was following the then current best practice.

Service & Engagement Can I speak to a manager?: A front end thread

Always always always must have an ID. No ID no product. I had a guest all pissed off because she sent her kids to come and pick up the item and they were not on the list. She didn't walk into the store to get it herself. She finally came in, picked up the item and talked to the LOD...

    Archived Updated Price Match

I don't know how anyone could scam it unless you have spineless TLs that won't let you say no. I had a lady come to the service desk and asked me to price match detergent from a newspaper ad, sure no problem. Then she waved her daughter over with 10 more and coupons and cartwheel. Apparently...

Archived What did your store do with the displays?

Oh... silent auction, that's a great idea. The money could be either put into the fund for food or donated to a charity.

    Archived STL in store

Huh... I see my STL about three times a week and we all know when he's in. He is not at all shy about helping to stock shelves, hop on a register or get carts. If he's doing it, he expects the other ETLs to do it to.

Archived MRC ( merchandise return card)

If you are in a state that requires a store to cash out gift cards, then yes you will have to. There's an MRC FAQ in Workbench. I haven't had anyone redeem them at the Service Desk, but I have definitely issued some out to guests. Only one was guest upset that they couldn't use it online but...
