    Stanley stainless mugs

That article is lacking some critical information. Did they ask the barista to hold the cups for them? Were they on shift or do anything sneaky to get them ahead of guests? I think the prohibitions against in-demand items are stupid, as long as TMs follow the same rules as everyone else--don't...

    On Demand Workers

I don't think Target hires for ODTM. At my store, at least, you need to be an established worker first and not everyone gets approved. Most common is good high school worker goes off to college, and they want them to work breaks & summers and such when they can.

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

Is there a legit way to turn off drive up notifications if you're not in drive up? If not, there absolutely should be something, maybe by role, where you can turn them off or they're disabled by default. I'm On Demand, and I could swear the last time I worked I wasn't getting constant alerts...

    Stores Closing, Sadly No Surprise

This is a good read: America’s shoplifting problem, explained by retail workers and thieves - https://www.vox.com/money/23938554/shoplifting-organized-retail-crime-walmart-target-theft-laws From workers: ... ... From thieves: ... The last three paragraphs pretty much nail the whole situation.

    Rush to do Online Training

Maybe it's because I'm old, but I do my trainings after my break and kinda groove on having the extra time off my feet my before going back to the floor. As an ODTM I pretty much always have at least 2 trainings in the hopper, even if it's only been a month since my last shift. I think Target...

    Which week does Back-To-School set?

Ours is apparently starting to set next week. Or maybe the week after, but way earlier than it should be. People are all over back to college here already and school isn't even out yet for the local district.

Business Insider article about double tappers

Seems to me Target could have a pretty straightforward response to people who double-tap--drop them to the end of the queue and give them a message that the TMs are gathering their items and will be out as soon as they can.

Weirdest item you’ve seen/had to spider wrap?

Yeah, but the sheer volume of Popsocket theft can make up for a lot. So many empty packages. But Popsockets should be $2 not $10+. so there's that.

Weirdest item you’ve seen/had to spider wrap?

This would be my assumption. Yeah someone could still take off with the spider-wrapped pills, but it cuts down on the risk because they've had to be face-to-face with an employee and people are less likely to just take off after they've been noticed that thoroughly. Since OTC doesn't have their...

Why can’t we request time off from home?

Because retail likes to infantilize their employees, and in their eyes, if they make it harder for people to take time off then less time off will be taken. Theoretically. See also: How the time off request system is easy to ignore allowing leaders to just ignore the time off requests until...

    Requirements to close drive up/store

My store will turn off drive up for lightning. We also had a few tornado warnings this year (including one where a small tornado swept through the parking lot), and they closed DU for those, too, obviously.

    Requirements to close drive up/store

Snow removal would depend on how often and how much the snow happens, whether Target owns the property the store is on vs. lease, and other things, but in places where it snows a lot they do contract with companies for snow removal. In reality, for shoveling in front of the doors, the cart...

Assume that nothing you say on the walkie is private

And that's when Danny, hearing his name on other walkies, decides it's break time, hits the bathroom, decides a pull really needs to be done in the far reaches of the backroom, etc.

    In the news

5 KILOGRAMS of fentanyl. Shit, they should have stuck with that. Not only is it more lucrative but the cops'll run away screaming from the fentanyl lest it leap out and leave them paralyzed, but they'll be happy to take credit for work done by Target AP.

Service & Engagement Can I speak to a manager?: A front end thread

Generous return policies make people happy and always rely on more people having shame than not and willing to eat the cost of the nots. Until enough of the nots start showing up that whoever has taken charge of that particular bottom line recently decides to tighten up the policies. The policy...
