    MEGATHREAD myDay app

Any chance to have the max quantity increased? Certain items particularly in produce are tedious because they do not have barcodes to fast scan and if you have to defect a large quantity of bananas or poinsettias for instance, doing them in batches of 19 isn't efficient when you have to...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

Why do some items still pull based on Fill Group? For example, stick lighters used to be CNDY fill group, and only pull in the dry grocery OFO despite being located outside of grocery on the floor and in the backroom.

Archived How much on average do you make per paycheck?

SrTL in a high COL area. Typically pocket about 1300 after taxes, insurance, and 401k.

    Archived No more ETL HR?

While I agree that the backrooms have typically been too full, it makes way more sense to utilize the space we have. It is significantly faster to replenish from the backroom than from the DC. Our backroom has lightened up significantly recently since my team started heavily using the manual...

    Archived On the Way Out

Sick pay isn't available in self-service. We have to fill out a paper form for HR to input. (and at my store they are strict about it only covering absences) That said, the point stands with regards to unused vacation/personal holiday. You can go back up to 6 weeks and use as much as possible.

    Archived TM to SrTL

When I promoted from TM to SrTL I stayed in the same store. The process was simple, I just applied for the position and went through interviews. Once I passed, they offered me the position in my store.

    Archived FY2016

Yeah, but that would never happen. Target wants guests interacting with the app and becoming aware of products we sell. If a guest has it all tied through cartwheel they will open the on every trip and be exposed to the current deals.

Archived Can you put in a two week vacation and then give two week notice?

My favorite thing was the notices they hung all over the HR area talking about how the new vacation bucket was great. Selling points included no longer being paid out when you leave the company and not being able to accumulate as much before is stopped accruing.

    Archived Bench Team Lead

As a leader, I am not asking my team members to take on additional responsibility just for fun. It's because leaders want to see that a person has a greater understanding of the business. I don't care if someone is the best TM ever, that doesn't mean they should be promoted. The people we are...

    Archived Bcode with mydevice

Scan the item you want. Scan the printer you want it to print out of. Press (I think) Signs and Labels, scroll all the way down. At the bottom there should be options for bcodes, though it doesn't call them that. The three bottom options are all bcodes, but one adds price and the other adds the...

Archived HBA + electronics / no receipt return

Bear in mind that AP needs sometimes dictate that the policy is changed. Many stores with high shortage have limited returns in these departments due to fraudulent returns. The company policy is no different than other areas of the store: you try the return on their ID and process if they are...

Archived Anyone else taking a truck on the 4th of July?

Why wouldn't you take one on the 4th? It makes more sense not to take one on the 5th since people will stay out late on the night of the 4th.

    Archived Store Requisitioning?

Correct. 549 is recognition. 601 is office supplies.

    Archived Top performing department

The top departments simply performed better this year than the same time period last year. The sales numbers we focus on for departments are the comps, or comparisons to previous years sales. If you are comping up is means that compared to last year you have sold more dollars worth of product...

    Archived Flow and the wave

I'll add that I know a lot of leaders focus on a goal time for the unload and set a hard limit. I think it's wrong to shoot for 60 minute unloads. Instead focus on the pace. Our absolute top pace I've timed for my team was 59 boxes per minute, and I think 50 is a good, even number to aim for...

    Archived SMF Shoes Merchandising Flexibility

It was hell when we did this. My old DTL told me we were no longer allowed to backstock shoes(He walked that aisle on multiple visits just to make sure), and the brand suffered immensely. Sales were down, service scores were down and markdowns increased. It took forever to zone and guests were...

    Transgender and Bathrooms

I disagree that the thread should be closed. You are free to stop reading if you don't want to take part in the discussion, but allow others to share their viewpoints in a civil manner. Several of my current and former team members were transgender. I built a strong relationship with each of...
