This is particularly bad where I am. The Target I worked at and the Trader Joe's I'm at now are in a VERY affluent area. Adults think the world should bow down to them and they teach their kids the same attitudes at a young age. I can't tell you how many rude people I get everyday and the kids...

    Archived Demon Spawn

It doesn't even have to be small children. The other day at work I had two college-aged brothers come through my line with their mom. Both were acting like they were 2 and the mom just kept shaking her head and asked if I felt sorry for her. I said yes but in my mind I wanted to say "yes because...

This. Once over a certain age, tantrums annoy me. But if they are little, I will try to help the kids calm down. We have stickers and lollipops available so sometimes those are offered. Most times though I can just distract them by talking to them. Being that all of my siblings are a good bit...

How do you act as a guest in other stores?

I walk into my former store and tease my former coworkers by saying "see the shorts I'm wearing? I wear them to work all the time. Cause I can." and then they tell me to GTFO and that I suck. All of this is done with love. I only tease the TMs I miss.

    Archived Demon Spawn

When I was young, I was either in the cart, or held on to it. I did not wander off, I did not touch. I would get asked "do you want to go outside?" or "do you want to go home?" yes my mother was overly strict in some areas but she taught me how to be respectful. I'm not even 24 yet and I know...

    Archived Demon Spawn

Our major problem at our store was more pre-teens and teenagers. Yes we had the demon spawn who would destroy toys while their parents watched, but these kids were let lose on the mall every Friday night cause their parents did not give a crap. They seemed to live for coming into Target and...

How do you act as a guest in other stores?

I would always go into other Target and secretly judge. I often would never get asked if I needed help or even acknowledged unless I was in electronics. Mainly I would just walk around and check for fun items on clearance that my store may not have had.

To my former STL: I never interacted with you much when I worked at the store. Yet you acted incredibly upset when I left. Then I was in the other day shopping and managed to avoid you until I reached checkout. Then you ran over me saying how great it is to see a familiar face, and gave me a...

Wow. That's up there with the empty condom wrapper my ETL found in the freezers one day

    Archived I hate it when...

I admit I would do this all the time when I was offstage. It was the only way I ever actually found out what the hell was going on in the store. I usually ignored TM conversations, but any that involved a TL or ETL were usually the good ones.

To that one ETL: you are one of the biggest reasons I can't wait to leave. Quit being such an ass. To two of my favorite TMs: I will truly miss you guys. You have become almost like family to me. Keep sticking up for yourselves at work. Don't let them kill your spirits like they did to me.

To my TL and ETL: I put in my 2 weeks. Get over it. Sorry no one knew I was looking elsewhere. Maybe if I got some recognition for always working my ass off I wouldn't be leaving. Get off my back & quit teasing me saying that I'll be back. You make me want to go kick even more ass at my new job...

TTOTM: What the hell do you do when you're at work? Seriously. If we leave you with nothing but normal routines to do and you can't even manage those, what were you doing all night?

To the guest who got snippy with me over blueberries: I'm sorry we ran out. We don't get trucks everyday. I could sell you some moldy ones if you want. And there are 2 other grocery stores within 5 minutes of Target. Go buy some there if you need them TODAY.

I'm on a roll today. It has been a rough few days To that one TM: Stop harassing me to try & get free food. I'm not going to give you the stuff I'm QMOS'ing. To my STL: I like you as a person but you are driving me INSANE as an STL. The store is not going to look perfect ALL the time. And if my...

To that one TL: Yes I called you out yesterday in front of an ETL. Maybe if you shared important information with us, I wouldn't have to do so. Learn how to communicate with your team. Just because you want to be an ETL doesn't mean you are one yet.

That is ridiculous. And this is why I always either have another color shirt on under my red hoodie (P-fresh days) or a hoodie/jacket to put over my red (salesfloor days). If I need to venture while I'm on break, I am wearing a different color.

To the POG TL: The conversation we had yesterday meant a lot to me, I hope that for once someone in this store actually follow through with something. Because it seems my TL forgets about just about everything. I love working with you and hope to be able to do it much more in the future.

TTOTM: I'll admit, for a new employee, you have been doing good work. But there is no need to constantly tell everyone how you used to be a manager at two other retail establishments, and that you think you need paid more for what you're doing here. You've been here less than a week. Chill out.
