    TL closing and opening 4am - 11pm

Full overnight process in a 110 Mil+ store, 4 10 hr shifts a week for 4 Inbound TL's and 2 Inbound ETL's, we are exempt, but I haven't heard anything from the daywalkers regarding them having to do a closing shift as of yet. We have 2 Closing TL's and a Closing ETL.

    TL closing and opening 4am - 11pm

adjust your sleep schedule by a few hours on the day you have to close? It's not like they're making you work an extra 4 hours on top of your shift.

No time and a half for Christmas Eve this year?

I don't think that was ever a thing, at least in my time working every Christmas Eve. Our SD is giving Inbound Christmas Eve off this year though for being as awesome as we are. :D

What happens to hours if someone calls off?

Maybe at your store. I usually see our high performer closer TMs staying late with the Closing leads to wrap up that are scheduled to go home when the store closes if needed. They'll send the low performers home on time every time.

What happens to hours if someone calls off?

Fiscal months don't follow the standard calendar.

Asking to have a slightly earlier shift.

HR will not adjust your schedule, your ETL will. Ask your ETL.

HR ignoring all time off requests and availability

Dunno, they have access being HR, so they do. Hasn't been an issue that I know of. They generally don't have a MyDevice on their desk, so that may be why.

HR ignoring all time off requests and availability

Yeah, Our HR TM's use their own phones to check for callouts/lates for our leaders.

Store closing at 10 but TMs working until 11

Our store has been open until 11pm for about a month now, open at 7am. Word on the grapevine is that it was for high volume stores only. Midnight close starts early December IIRC.

    Holiday/overtime

I worked 48 hours the week of Juneteenth. It's still a thing if your store wants to give you those hours.

Merit Raises & Reviews: 2023 Edition

Yeah, we had 5 on our Inbound team that I know of who got the max raise alone. They deserved it.

Merit Raises & Reviews: 2023 Edition

Rumors of a .3% at my store. Yes, they're utter shite and wouldn't be surprised in the least.

Why do leadership in retail places schedule short shifts instead of fewer days when cutting hours?

Not when you enjoy that sweet overnight bonus and max raises every year. 🤷‍♀️

Why do leadership in retail places schedule short shifts instead of fewer days when cutting hours?

I live 10 miles from my Target and it takes me 30 minutes to get there. It's absolutely worth it.

Why do leadership in retail places schedule short shifts instead of fewer days when cutting hours?

Exactly, but you're there during peak foot traffic hours twice a week instead of 1, so the average guest is serviced better. Hours are hours. Just a guess anyway. If you want the real answer, just ask your ETL.

Why do leadership in retail places schedule short shifts instead of fewer days when cutting hours?

Guessing here, but if the store is super busy for 4 hours a day and they can have a body to help those guests for 2 days instead of 1, they will. The store can probably make more sales with the same amount of hours.
