Archived "Dammit, Jim! I'm a foodie, not a barista!"

Starbucks is pretty easy, the guests can be a pain but that's always true. Starbucks has automated everything so much that you're not even really expected to be a real barista (you don't pull shots, you press a button). Either way if you have a cool TL its probably one of the better jobs in the...

    Archived Shops At Target

I had guests laughing out loud at the Necco wafers today, they couldn't believe it. Frankly neither could I.

Incorrect. Most local delivery drivers are also contractors. I know, I was one. Here is an article that explains how it works. http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/05_48/b3961086.htm You are however correct that UPS is Union

FedEx drivers are independent contractors. It prevents FedEx from having to provide benefits and makes it all but impossible to unionize. I'd say you're on to something.

No thanks. I volunteer 5-10 hours a week through my church. I don't need to be a walking billboard for Target without getting paid.

And what if you needed to go to the dentist? That's a couple grand if you need any work done. Break an arm or get severely sick outside of work? Financial ruin. You were living in poverty and were a few days and a few dollars away from being in financial ruin and debt for a good chunk of your...

Archived Instock Team Going Away in March

Interesting. When we stop instocks for even a week our floor looks bare. Can't say this is a surprise though the writing has been on the wall for a while. I feel bad for the instocks team.

Archived Seriously? Cutting hours in the last week of the busiest month of the year?

Happened at my store also. All the seasonal help was let go and we all had at least one shift taken away from us next week. Its insane. One person was crying in the bathroom, I guess they told the seasonal help they would be kept on at a minimum until Jan 1st. Merry Christmas. Nothing like...

proud to say. I haven't called in in nine years. Not bragging, and it certainly wasn't for Target it was because I know what a burden it places on everyone else in my department.

If its anything like my store the geniuses running the front end wont even bother calling up more cashiers, they'll just send people to check out at Food Ave. I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to ring up that much merchandise over there.

Archived Target stores open until 9pm on christmas EVE!?

Just say no. Just say no, I did. There will be plenty of people who volunteer. As a Christian Christmas Eve is important, we celebrate mass at 9pm every year and I'm not going to give that up for a job that wouldn't make sacrifices for me. I can already see the Target "War on Christmas" news...
