    Archived ETL's; special treatment

LOL funny you bring up those stop watches, because last night at break those were brought up in the conversation. I've only been at Target for a little over a year, so I didn't get the pleasure of being stop watched lol.

Archived does target only want etls with NO management experience?

I suppose its possible, but she's a very serious person. She's one of those business types of people. Doesn't interact with the team well, poor communication skills, thinks she knows best, etc. She's the talk-the-talk and push-the-paper work type of ETLs. So if she was trying to be funny, it...

    Archived ETL's; special treatment

I work over nights and we aren't a troubled store, in fact we are a very good store in terms of our logistical process as well as sales. We received one of those fresh out of the can ETLs from college back in August and she has been adamant to change things. She's never worked a 4th quarter and...

Archived does target only want etls with NO management experience?

Amazing ETL's coming out of this "system". Last night (overnights), my ETL that is pretty much right out of college ended up degrading our guests at huddle by calling them lazy. Stating that all of the guests that come in this weekend for our continual Black Friday sales were and are lazy...

Archived Subtract 99 (SUBT 999 as referred on here)

I do it for really anything being moved off of plano (there are a few other instances too, but its mostly plano's stuff). End caps and stuff. If we don't do it, they come up in our batches the next day, which is murder because it will always ask us to pull some absurd number like 40 of it.

    Archived Could I do this?

First. So-freaking-true-lol! I was in a similar position; 4 year degree, professional experience. Decided to opt out of my degree field when I quit my job, since then I tried to get a O/N TL position that opened up. Didn't get it because of how poorly I interview. This could just be my store...

Archived How To Become a Team Lead

I have a 4 year degree, found work in my field. Quit that job, tried to move up at Target, which was my 2nd job at the time. Failed at getting the TL position ;\ FML lol 4th quarter trucks have started, we have 3 TLs for O/N, GG.

    Archived T-shirts?

I'm an O/N member, but a day side ETL yesterday asked me if I had one of the new RED CARD shirts. I told him no, so he then proceeded to tell me to pick one up. The shirt sizes left over are: XXXL, XXL, and Small. I laughed and walked away. I guess I shouldn't of had my 5 day break when they...

    Archived TL interviews completed

First and foremost to respond to the comment of them humoring me with an interview. Today I had a rather long meeting with my STL, which he ended up telling me I was honored an interview because of my work ethic, attitude, and the ability to produce results. --- A little good news, but I see...

    Archived Bake Center Endcap

Water-wall, haha. Store layout seems very different from ours, we don't have any water wall...or back wall of water, heh. We have that end cap though, pretty much same spot too. It's actually one aisle down from water, in snacks.

Archived Backroom Teams at other stores

I've been complaining to my TL and ETLs to replace me in the backroom forever, they seem to follow the same logic. Which to me, just doesn't make much sense. Working in the backroom doesn't seem all too difficult to be completely honest. You scan an item, you scan a bay, you enter the quantity...

Archived How do you lead your backroom team?

Lol waving the backroom. I'm probably misunderstanding exactly how your BR waves, but how are you fitting 3-4 people in an aisle? lol Non 4th quarter, on A side we usually have a team of 2 while the 3rd is by themselves. During 4th quarter its 2 teams of 2. B side usually alone, sometimes in a...

Archived How do you lead your backroom team?

Incredible words of wisdom. I preach this so much, even as a TM. Our newest ETL just doesn't seem to get it or understand it, even one of my TL's doesn't get it. You don't understand and value the culture and the sociological make up of your team and you'll gain very little trust and respect...

Archived Backroom Teams at other stores

When I was hired, I was put directly into the backroom, but I had 4 years prior experience. It literally took 1 day of training and then I had to tell my TL who was training me in that I got it, lol. The only help I had from then on was just random small questions that the backroom team had...
