    Archived Concealed Carry at Target

When I finished the Terrorism and WMD training (California ftw), I emerged from the AP Office like a groundhog, blinking into the lights (had been doing e-training for 4 hours straight). Ordered myself a Starbucks, and told the girl that I had just finished some weird training. Her - "Really...

    Archived Concealed Carry at Target

As a 3-year AP TM, I can tell you that in a worst-case scenario, I'm locking myself in the office. What can I do? Throw my mini-Maglite at someone? As long as you're trained, level headed, and EXTREMELY safe about having it, I wouldn't mind. That being said, don't tell a soul in your store...

Archived Transfering. Any help from Los Angeles Area TMs?

Hey all, I'm moving down to the Oxnard area from the Bay Area next month. I'm looking to transfer to one of the following stores: Oxnard Ventura (x2) Camarillo T. Oaks Simi Valley (Tejada) Anyone here work in these stores or area and can give me a recommendation? I'd like to stay AP...

As long as everyone follows BP, life is good. Always build your cases; don't jump on the first tiny thing. If you can build it, then partner with IC for resolution, everyone wins.

    Archived talking back

I've actually worked as a Cashier, Electronics TM, Salesfloor TM, Inventory Prep, as well as TPS and Sr. TPS, so I've seen the "regular TM" side of things. I understand your frustration in being (seemingly) complicit in fraud and theft at the front end, but there's not a lot to be done when it's...

There's a difference between caring and taking it personally, especially when it colors their transactions with the guests. They need to care to an extent, but it's usually not worth getting mad over.

    Archived talking back

It's interesting, from an AP perspective, how personally most TMs take theft and fraud. We laugh it off in AP and go about our day, but man, some TMs get PISSED.

Archived New to TBR, (relatively) old hand otherwise

Hey all. I've been lurking here for a while, thought I'd join and say hi. I like that there's cross-store communication here and a place to share your Spot-y experiences. Some background: Worked for the Spot in college. 2 1/2 years at two stores, on a B volume, one was a Greatland. Started...

Archived Just got hired as an APS!

I've been TPS and STPS at three different stores over three years, and have really enjoyed it everywhere. AP is the place to be in Spot.

Kill them with kindness, and when in doubt, let someone from AP come over and deal with them. The Verbal De-Escalation training they learn actually works. 95% of the time, guest conflicts are pure textbook.

    Archived ad takedown process

AP gets to do a lot of weird stuff here. I've pushed a ton of CAFs, lots of go backs... you name it. I much prefer to focus on my core roles, but such is life.

    Archived Ad setup/takedown.

I'm on my last 15, stalling so I don't have to do much keying ( I'm AP, but my ETL-AP is LOD, so I "get" to help). We take down ads while zoning, then hand key every ad. It seems so inefficient compared to my last store, where we scanned them down. Glad to know that mine isn't the only weird...

    Archived ad takedown process

Hey all. New to the forum, but I've lurked for a while. Spent almost three years with the spot, most of it in AP in three stores. I have a question about takedown. My store does takedown on Saturday nights. They physically take the signs down starting around 8, and then three or so people...
