The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

I wonder if it’s truly that your SD doesn’t care or he or she is working within the confines of what’s given. For example the payroll we’re allocated Is what it is. We then try to figure out how to best run the store with the resources we have. Not saying you’re wrong at all. I’m just giving...

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

For my store I protect Fulfillment, Front, truck, and food. You never have enough payroll to accomplish everything so you then start looking at where, as a team, you all have to pick up the slack. Definitely tough. I miss the days of an official backroom team, instocks team, zones that covered...

Then get in trouble if they answer the “how you spend your time at work” survey honestly lol 😂

    BALLOONS!

From what I seen some stores have the locations on magnets so they can put them on any vehicle that's available. Others use velcro, etc. Dedicating vehicles only for this is unrealistic like you're saying.

    BALLOONS!

Scanning RDC isn't forced. Stores don't have to but it's being encouraged. FDC sort process rolling out to GM stores. Small formats next year but you can ask to get it if you have reach ins. The FDC sort process essentially makes product located at all times as you scan each box and locate on...

    Attendance Point System

Rolling out next year. Some questions have been asked like can points be given back if a schedule mistake was made etc. Not much shared with us other than it's coming next year. This year is about timekeeping changes.

    Target’s Vision

Yep and there is a long term plan to eliminate that extra step but I’m not sure where they’re at with that yet. It was spoken about two years ago.

    Target’s Vision

I respect what you’re saying. I also don’t think putting the sort process on the store team is practical either. This is why I think innovation is needed in the way the company distributes product. A new system that doesn’t overwork and create multiple steps for the team members in stores as...

    Target’s Vision

For the last few years it’s been challenging. Ups and downs. I hope we see a return to the basics. Payroll to match the workload Focus on guest experience Good looking stores We have 10,000 metrics these days with higher expectations which seems good but in reality everyone is chasing metrics...

How long does planorama usually last?

Think I know what store you’re referring to lol. It’ll be done by Friday. You’ll be then taking trucks, filling the store for a month, then open to the public. Planorama is extremely fun. If we’re talking about the same store, it’s going very well.

    Your Target Work Experience

Obviously I don't think Target is terrible or I wouldn't be with Target nor will I be I'm the role I'm in. This is what I'll say about Target. Districts matter, leadership matters, and store culture matters most. If your district is big on desired hours like mine you can expect to be within 20%...

Have your stores changed the truck days in 2024

No truck days is never something I’ve experience at my volume. Slowest part of the year is 10 to 11 trucks for us. From a staffing stand point my preferred single days is the weekends. There is no realistic way there can be a company wide standard for trucks.

    Black Friday 2023

100%. It’s the game of “Theory” from HQ vs “Practical” from stores.

    Black Friday 2023

We always separate Backroom. 100 hours per trailer is for push and unload. I will always schedule 7 Backroom TMs no matter what. Hence where 1700+ comes from. It depends on your store. My district we found that consistently scheduling X amount of Backroom for inbound works best. Push & unload is...

    Black Friday 2023

I’m not disputing that it sometimes feels like there aren’t enough resources. That definitely happens. What I’m saying is I never met a SD that does that on purpose. Usually it’s just terrible payroll given. It’s an uphill battle from the start when they still drop Imbound hours like 600hrs...

Starbucks Drive Ups and the Double Tap

It’s incredibly frustrating. What is most annoying is that I personally feel like the solution is simple. There should be a 5 min buffer between im on my way and I’m here. Same feature like the digital lines for things like console releases etc. Someone should be able to code that up in 24hrs.

BF for us was busy but not like years ago. Digital on the other hand…stressful!!! 7k+ daily goals in SFS 6k+ daily goals in OPU All the way into cyber week. On top of that, the amount of freight coming in 😂. Been crazy but got through it.

    Black Friday 2023

I don’t know one peer that would rather suffer by cutting payroll, not replacing key shifts, or underposting. It’s a myth. Truth is we are told by DSDs to spend the payroll but don’t miss the month. If you leave too much payroll on the table it’s a sign that you’re understaffed and can cause...
