    Outbound noncon is a lot harder than carton air. Noncon includes team lift so is much heavier and if you are sorting properly you get much fewer multiples per store/location and have to walk much of the freight all the way into the trailer. Not that I think either goal is easily achieved...

    Note on repack

    That is for the DC. Normally all items are associated with the Master label on top of the box, so one scan can load it to the trailer. I don’t know why it happened is this case. Maybe a TMs error, an item set up error, IM reworking an item or corporate not letting us reprint a damaged label.

    Designated parking spaces

    I have given plenty of dirty looks to people with “their” area. The DC has had to put up cones to keep them out of their areas including the pedestrian access to between the handicapped spaces. Friday they found a new unmarked area and almost completely blocked the exit.

    Break Schedule

    The best part of the half hour unpaid lunch is that it makes a 12 hour into a shift 12 and half hour shift with half hour overlaps. As far as I can tell no one works the during the overlaps, so two extra paid half hour breaks.

    Voluntary Not Scheduled It is a DC thing. We are all on a set 36/40 hour schedule. With MyTime we can volunteer up or down. Weekly the managers approve voluntary to meet plan or force a rotation up or down if needed.

    Friday we had to come in and palletize freight after the trailers filled because it was too slippery for the hostlers to pull trailers out. Up to three days vns next week.

    The quote should be base pay. Some keys get a shift differential added to your base pay, weekend nights generally being the highest. As all DCs are different I can’t say what the base at your DC is.

    Has peak season started?

    Outbound is still slow enough to send a dozen people home start of shift and capacity issue are allowing inbound to pre-approve NS. Hopefully after Halloween we will bury the stores with Christmas freight allowing us to receive the off site freight, allowing all the overtime anyone could want.
