    Bye bye Target

At my store I have only seen ETLs get fired. Most TMs I have seen fired was for theft.

    Couldn't be happier

No matter what the industry I have always thought you need to switch companies every four or five years to move up in your career. That's also the only way to make more money long term. The weird thing I see at my store is TMs that have full time job that I would think would be pay a lot more...

Maybe they were just in the neighborhood! :p

    Bye bye Target

THIS: I took the job on the condition not to start until December 15th . You need some time to decompress before starting a new job. You don't want to start that new job already looking stressed and frazzled.

    Bye bye Target

What did Target say when you gave notice? Where they surprised?

Finally it’s over after 22 years!

When I started at Target I was working at another place. Target added me to the schedule and worked around my other job. When I told the other place I was quitting they said just leave now. That's is why I would never give any company any notice anymore.

Finally it’s over after 22 years!

I assume you meant without a two weeks notice. I am about to do the same thing after 8 years. I think the only people anymore that believe in a two weeks are those that have been laid off and/or fired in their work career.

I think im finally ready to quit without another job lined up

I guess it matters whether you are planning to stay in retail or not. If so I would line up another retail job first if that isn't the case just quit and do Uber, Door Dash, etc. in the meantime. That being said I would also resign through Workday and STATE THE REASON and KEEP COPIES...

Service & Engagement "Have a good night!"

Agreed especially since poster just joined the forum just three days ago. The post is also long and rambling and seems written by someone that hadn't passed high school English let alone someone with three degrees.

Resigning after Two Weeks of Work at Target

Our store is hiring anyone warm with a pulse. It doesn't help that starting next week we are open until Midnight.

    Goodbye, and Good Riddance, Spot!

You stack cardboard bales on a rack? Those are really heavy! Yet you have a pallet of paper towels lower. How very "Targetty" as my coworker states a lot.

Put My Two Weeks In Yesterday.....

Our ETL left to work for a logistics company. I am sure by this time he realizes that not having to work weekends all the time is worth it even at the same pay.

    It's been a while, but I quit!!!

Great point. You need to tailor your resume to the key words listed in the job posting. I don't think companies even look at your job titles because they vary so much. Target has Consumables (grocery) which people think is edible weed products! Also I have seen people apply to ever job...

I'm not totally out the door yet.

How much vacation and/or sick time do you have? You can still see the friends you made at Target. On Demand may not even be an option.

    Exit Survey

Not really because I know she didn't actually do my review the ETL did. However I did mention the massive TL turnover in the store. Her last day at my store was a couple of days ago!

    Exit Survey

I think doing an exit survey AFTER I decide to leave is pointless. You should have asked my opinion during my annual review. It's amusing that if you read my annual reviews you would really have no idea what I do or what department I work. IMHO any company that does annual reviews at the same...

    Let go for... no reason?

Good. My department just a had a newly hired TM leave after less than two weeks. I don't understand why they even scheduled him on Sunday (i.e first day of the work week) because he didn't do anything anyway. If you are quitting don't come in and do nothing so I HAVE TO DO YOUR WORK TOO!

    Let go for... no reason?

Do you have a dated resignation letter and/or did it online? If so I would hold on to that in case your new employer asks and/or you need to file for unemployment down the road. Target probably figured you were leaving anyway and wanted to save the hours to use somewhere else.

    Putting in my 2 Weeks

Agreed but I would type a note and give it to your primary TL. Good luck.

    2 Week Resignation

Target is very good at getting a TM to do TL work without the pay. I would ask them to consider you for a TL position and none of the "on the bench" bullshit. If they don't give you a timetable I would quit and go somewhere else. You could see if there is a TL opening at another store and go...
