Archived Availability change?

I have been at my store for 5 months now I started seasonal in november. I recently requested a availability change because im starting extern for school which is 170 hours that I have to complete. I was wondering can they deny it? I was under the impression they couldn't do that if it was for school. Am I wrong?
 
Yes, they can technically deny it, but it probably isn't in their best interest to deny it. Just make sure that you inform whoever makes your schedule about the availability change, because I know a lot of leaders don't look for new requests unless told. I learned that the hard way before school started back up last fall.
 
I would actually recommend actually making sure they change it. Like, be right there with them at the computer and make sure they change it. If you tell them about it, they'll almost 100% forget about it.
