Can i get fired for calling out for having Norovirus?

Just curious, I got sent home yesterday cause i threw up, i ended up going to the ER for dehydration and they told me i have Norovirus, I got a doctors note but it said i’d be returning today but i’m still having major symptoms, Tmi i literally shit my pants running to the bathroom to puke, Just wondering if me calling out till i recover will have any penalties on me

It depends on your attendance up until this point.

If you never miss, rarely miss, or haven't missed in awhile; you'll be fine. They'll likely talk to you about it and it'll be documented, but that doesn't mean anything unless it becomes a pattern.

If you call out frequently then this could affect you. In this case, you shouldn't be fired. However, it is likely you'd be put on a CA.

TBH, at our store you'd be fine either way because you literally threw up at work and got sent home. But, all stores are not the same.

Call your HR, explain, get better.

Also call your doctor. If they assumed you would be better to go back to work already and your not they might want to follow up and can give you another note.
