Beto didn't even win his own state and now suddenly we want him to run as President?

I want him as Vice-president to balance Warren.
A moderate Southern Dem with an East Coast Lib Dem has been the magic bullet for Democrats in past.

AOC is much better served being a flamethrower in a deep blue district than attempting to run for President.

Commie, I would be fine with Beto as a potential VP. He is charismatic and would do well as a campaigner, just no way would I put him on top of the ticket at this point.

There is going to have to be more (perceived) depth on the ticket that either AOC or Beto can bring right now.

Experience paired with the future sounds like a dream ticket to me.

I want a seat in the cabinet! Better yet an ambassadorship to a peaceful, developed country!

Schumer’s body language in the rebuttal is so disturbing. Esp while Pelosi spoke. I think I believe in reptile people. Don’t have a tin foil hat just the earrings. # Presidential speech
# whole 22 minutes

Trump's right eye was weird as fuck. His squinting is so distracting.

Schumer was also very awkward.

I'd really hoped this would die down but....nope:
“These are the kinds of headlines the party doesn’t need right now,” Steinhauser said. "Doubling down on shrinking the tent is a very bad idea. It does make me wonder what’s next. Are they going to say no Catholics can be in a leadership positions in the party or no Jews? I mean, what is the religious standard that they want to impose?"
Baptist, of course.

Holy shit, I need to pay attention to DFW GOP more often. While they managed to overwhelmingly defeat the vote on "Should we kick the brown guy out?", I just learned this lady was the previous chairman of the Fort Worth GOP:

Fun fact: Tarrant County has traditionally been the considered the largest urban area red vote and went to Beto in Nov. Now I see why.

Man, I feel for all the federal government employees who are working without pay right now. It’s just wrong for them to get shafted because the President and Congress can’t get their shit together. Especially since Congress still gets paid during the shutdown even though not even our armed forces do. These federal employees are hardworking folks with bills to pay. Loans and bills aren’t gonna wait just because politicians screwed up again. It’s messed up that they’re being held hostage effectively in a political catfight.

Beto being nationally supported like he was makes no sense to me. Republicans can and have done far worse than the Zodiac Killer.

Idon't understand the obsession with flipping Texas blue. Is it for electoral votes? If that's the case I guess it makes sense, but overall what Texas has always done seems to be working for them well enough, especially if people are constantly leaving deep blue places like California for greener (redder) pastures.

Sure you might earn a leg up in presidential generals, but if that comes at the cost of what made Texas a great place to live in the first place, what have we gained?

Texas has had a tradition of great southern liberals like Molly Ivans, John Hightower and Ann Richard, going back decades.
Right now it is becoming more purple every year with a larger minority and younger population.
Flipping Texas would be both a major deal in terms of senate and house votes but really because it would be a real death rattle for the GOP.

Is that a good thing though?

No one should go uncontested.

I'm sure a new party made up of conservatives and the rich will take its place.
A good portion of the older Democrats are basically moderate Republicans at this point.
If Trump kills the current GOP and the new batch of Democrats start making the party look more like the country, perhaps they will split off and make a new moderate party.
We might actually have politics that looks more like what the country believes again.
