How do you deal with seeing people you know?

I hate it when I see people I know at work that I don't care for or have no real relationship with (which is pretty much everyone other than family, lol). I'm usually busy and on the move so I will amp that up and give off the "so busy, gotta go" vibe.

Funny enough I've never had that. I only either have people I would enjoy seeing at work and people who absolutely hate me. I enjoy seeing people who are both "neutral" and people I like.... But the ones on the other side.... It's just too much man 😂

I've seen a "family enemy" and a couple of former bosses that I despise. Not a big deal, just say Hi if I don't see them coming and then quickly move on. If I do see them coming, I just go find a nearby TM, quickly explain, and ask them to go guest service while I abscond to the back.

Lol family enemies are the worst

Yup. Especially when the one that comes in my store used to be one of the closest family friends before some fallout over Bernie Sanders' presidential run that didn't involve me, the only socialist in the family, at all. Supposedly, there was some big argument about Medicare for all and free college tuition while camping out together. Oddly enough, the "family enemy" was on my side of the argument (Yes to both!), but now they're awful toward me. I get it. You hate my parents who were your best friends for years because they're liberals. Their politics irritate me too. But, I can still get along with them and not take it out on everyone related to them.

Oh I don't care much for politics but I getcha

If they're actual friends, I do talk to them, but I usually avoid others. Particularly day job coworkers (two regularly shop at my store). I don't think my company minds moonlighting, but I'm not 100% sure so I tend to just avoid them or we pretend each other doesn't exist (or they don't actually recognize me, as some people don't easily recognize people outside the normal place they see them and/or don't actually look at retail workers).

It's super awkward when I see anyone I know but mostly because I'm super awkward as a person. With a guest I can talk about our products a lot but with someone I actually know I can't just go on about our products. So I tend to avoid anyone I actually know at work.
