Archived How to fix receipt paper that prints faded

Hey everyone. I wanted to ask if anyone had any troubleshooting for printers that print receipts with very faded ink so that they're not able to be scanned nor very visible to read if you try to enter it into the POS for a return.

Reprint the receipt promptly after transaction. Fix the printer! Also, use credit card option.

The printers are all thermal, so it probably just needs to be cleaned. Compare the cleanliness of the one that won't print to one that does well, I'm sure you'll notice a difference.

Make sure the printer track is clear of paper wads & debris, too.
Also check your paper by running the edge of your thumbnail across it; if it doesn't leave a mark it could be defective (rare, but we got a bad batch once).

Your PMT should have a guide on maintaining them. Just ask him/her to walk you through it.

easiest way: get alcohol wipes and run them over where it burns the paper. fixes them every time. do not use the cleaning pens, they suck.
