I was fired back in January 2016 for insubordination. Should I apply to that same store for the heck of it. I miss that place lol

I was at Nabisco (great job; GREAT pay) but my car can't make trips out of town to merchandise stores so I had to resign due to wear & tear in my car. I'm looking for work, been applying EVERYWHERE since November. Is it worth my time to apply, think they'd give me a interview?

If you had asked in October I would’ve said he’ll yeah go for it. But this week most stores let their seasonal help go. Hours are cut deep for most TMs. But if you think it’s worth a shot talk to someone in HR and see if they’re even looking to fill any positions. Usually there is the “We are always accepting applications, however, we are (not) hiring at this time” and then there is the “But if the right person came along we’re looking for ________.”

I was there for a couple of years, flashbacks, yea just remember it's January. Everyone's hours gets cut. seasonal let go, well hypothetically in Spring, I wonder if they'd give me a shot...

Workday Staffing is such a nightmare from beginning to end. Whenever it starts getting warm out is when hiring typically picks up. If there is still anyone around at your store who would be willing to recommend you I’d have them mention something to HR including what you’ve done before (especially if you have price/POG experience).

The HR Manager that I liked left. Same stl but he just arrived when I left ( "escorted" out by one of the AP undercover guy who now is the ETL for AP I think). I was a cart attendant there. I was their so called "Team Trainer." I'd rather work backroom and bring items onto the floor during day/night shift. Forgot what that's called. That or I'd LOVE to work at Best Buy. Hoping any job will come through til I have enough to get a better car to commute town to town (probably 2 years from now)

You said you got fired for insubordination so that’s a no.

I heard something about their HR system or something like that. Ex cons are getting hired at spot faster than Epstein's ghost hitting on Greta

Be that as in May for ex cons being hired . You were fired for something that I would not rehire you.

Keep dreaming, good luck at nabisco or whatever else hell you end up in ,that you deserve.

No more backroom and no more just pulling/pushing all day. If you weren’t cut out for target then you definitely aren’t now. Whole different company.

Insubordination could simply be arguing with the wrong person and mad enough to keep arguing instead of leaving when told to get out. Even my judgmental ass is going to reserve judgment until there's more details.

But hr and sd won’t . And that’s where the hiring part lays . He might not even get to an interview if they see insubordination. And if you can walk away from an argument to the point that results in being fired I doubt there’s hope there . I’m just realistic in target world .

Yes, but people on this thread are calling him a criminal. Escorted out is not the same as escorted to a police car.

Fired = we don't want you working here anymore.

I don't see you getting an interview after being fired for anything but attendance.

You're never going to win an argument with trash. Trash doesn't have the mental ammunition to keep up with reason. Trash will construe everything you say, regardless of it's efficacy as insubordination. Trash doesn't know the definition of the word efficacy. Pick your battles and always remember to document everything. Dealing with trash is close to impossible. I only ran into one TL at the Neptune store who I considered trash. All other TL's were really quite nice and efficient.

How do you know the TL who fired him was trash? Maybe he deserved to be fired. He hasn't stated otherwise. Doesn't mean he's a POS, just means he screwed up.

This may come as a surprise, but sometimes people get fired because they did something wrong and deserve to get fired. Hope I didn't blow anyone's mind with that revelation.

And you are right. It could have been well deserved. As insubordination which he says which means openly disrespecting a higher up's authority. Many angry people in many industries have been escorted out simply because they would not stop arguing when told to leave.

But that does not mean he is an ex con, which many people here have called him. That's an assumption way too far, and that stance, absent any indication of criminal charges or threat thereof, is trash.

Point missed. Repeat: you will get nowhere arguing with trash, they're too stupid or arrogant to keep up with a reasonable discussion, period. Maybe this employee did deserve to get fired, there are many who come under this category but again there are many unreasonable managers who take it too far. I wouldn't give away Neptunes location but demographically there are an awful lot of very thick headed uneducated people around here.

I just read over this whole thread and nowhere did anyone accuse him of being a criminal. Were some posts deleted? Someone please highlight the passages where anyone accused the OP of being a criminal. Saying they would not rehire you because of getting fired for insubordination is not saying that you are a criminal, just that they would not rehire you.

ETA: it was the OP who brought up ex-cons being hired.
