OK, were finding a lot of old MIR Books, from are past receiver that quit, so I been having to clean up the mess slowly but surely, though even after contacting CRC I still can't get a real answer

so after a MIR is closed is there any way to send the books back readerlink correctly, or any product for that matter since I have two small boxes that were found yesterday of MIR's that were closed out before I took over though not everything was found, and about 15 books that were part of a MIR's that never got sent off from the old receiver?

From another thread:
It's all stuff that was on MIRs years ago so you won't be able to find the information on the return (Well, if your receiver is good on their paperwork, you might be able to find it but that would be a major waste of time).

Are the OH's correct? If they're 0 or less, just destroy/toss them. If OH's are accurate, you can do 1 of 3 things:
1) Defect (They would probably have to go to the CRC so AP may have a problem with this)
2) SIM (You'll probably need to do it at least twice to get a low enough mark down).
3) Research to 0 OH and destroy/toss (Depending on your quantities, this may be the most favorable. We did this when cleaning out our D-Code gift cards. There's no way in hell I'm defecting 700+ subway cards).

you don't even want me get started about his file cabinets and paper work, if I called you or Broken about that and took a picture of what he had in there you be doing like I was cringing at the teeth, and going I'm not going to quit, forgot the part about the dead Mouse in one of them

You can key in credits for Reader Link if the edges of the book are yellow or if damged in some way.
Just do a vendor credit like you do for your food vendors. Use the date and your store number as the vendor invoice number (10072015****). Print the packing slip and just include the books and paperwork to one of the boxes of your weekly mirs. This will get rid of some of your books.

When and where did you find this as best practices?

Don't remember where I saw on best partice but been doing rec/Rev logistics for a long time. If you scan item as damaged it comes up as vendor product. So why not do a credit on damaged. The only time Readerlink returned a book to me was one they said wasn't theirs. When we had mmb specialist I was returning alot of yellow page books. Compare a new release to titles that have been sitting on the shelves for awhile for difference in appearance.

You can re-open MIRs if it is before the last ship date. You go to start MIR in the pda and type in the MIR number even though it is not on the list to to start. There is only a period of a few weeks after the MIR is due that you can re-open, after that I believe best practice is to use SIM.
