MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

I'm so glad I ordered backer paper early. We are not an early set store, but we set it on Monday. I had to order the backer paper about 4 weeks ago so that it would be here in time.

Does anyone know the numbers or description for the single label, adhesive backed plastic label holders? Pic for clarification. IMG_20160613_063642661.jpg

If it gets set with out backer paper I normally get to put the paper up after the set. It's awful.
I'm sorry you see the kitty litter pallet seared it in half. There was NOTHING I could do.... I mean I COULD order it, but it won't come it till prob like the last week if we are lucky of bts.... :D......

I started building today. We set Monday. I don't think I have backer either. I didn't even think about it. I better give my STL the bad news tomorrow.

Signing SPECIALIST - it's no longer a 'thing' yet it's in some new set notes lol
Yeah, they won't order you one. You get plain or trainer...

...ordered a crap ton of backer after I saw the pack list...we set chain date. Maybe we'll get it in time.

It's an ongoing in issue with most sets in seasonal and mini they never send enough backer paper. Although it does look good our store doesn't stress about it we just prioritize around the flat, back wall directly visible and any front end caps.

Thanks! Unfortunately I can't seem to find that on SAP, maybe they only come packaged with the location inserts.

It's been a few months since I ordered them last, those numbers are from a picture of the label from the last time I got them in. Next time I'm around on SAP I'll have to see what it might have changed to.

I used to order packs of them regularly until I built up a nice stash, they come in so handy all of the time.

Ok so if they are SINGLE adhesive holders, look in the school transition manual. I forgot to look. Suggestions for sap would be some form of "softlines insert location holder" lose some words
Now try these numbers...

How is everyone storing their BTS bins they've built? I'm wrapping mine and throwing them up in the steel. My ETL seems to like it. I don't know how my previous signing TM did it.

My POG TL told me the other day that the back wall is the only part of BTS that calls for backer paper. I haven't had a chance to look into it myself yet but I hope she's right.

Stacked in the tl office and training room corners...it's gonna be fun. My stl did not allocate me 40hrs the week of bts for signing...

I've been the signing team member a little less than a year so this is my first time doing BTS and I have to build and store them in the training room. I'm not even halfway done and I'm running out of room. I suggested storing them in the steel but anytime I suggest anything, I'm dismissed with "no, we've always done it this way." That could also have something to do with why every signing team member in the last five years has job-abandoned, but hey, I suppose they don't pay me to think. After all, the only people in my store who have truly great ideas are the ETLs. I'm happy to just keep taking orders from someone with a degree in Underwater Basket Weaving and absolutely zero critical thinking abilities.

We've also stacked them into tubs with the giant rubber bands holding them in...once you've filed the tubs they generally are more agreeable to your ideas...it's a gamble they won't purposely wreck them though.

They kicked me out of the training room, which is where they kept the pre-built stuff before according to my TL. So when I suggested the steel, they weren't arguing with me. My store is very open to new ideas and processes if it makes everything a little easier in the long run. I guess this varies from store to store, but my ETLs and STL don't try to act like they know everything.

That's the way it should be. My store has not always been the way it is now, and I've shed a few tears reminiscing about the leaders we have had in the past. I don't want to give too many details for fear of giving away who I am if any of them ever come to this forum - but our current group of ETLs is awful. Absolutely awful. It's not just me that feels that way, it is our entire store and that was definitely reflected in our best team survey results. Even I was shocked at just how low the scores were. I love my job, my team and the work I do. I'm just trying to hold on until new leadership comes in, and hope that they at least aren't any worse.
