MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

There's a trending mysupport that says it will arrive no later than tomorrow 8/31. Haven't received mine yet either.

Edit: jk it just got delivered.
Ours too. Can't wait to get that up. Not. Etl-log is gonna help on the force Friday overnight though.

So the new star wars free standing ism says to scan signs in the app. What exactly do you scan and on what signs? Anyone know?

Midnight launch totally was not worth it at my store, ~10 people showed up. I get the feeling Target didn't do anything to advertise the event. Why didn't we have a setup for the stuffed giveaway like we did last time with the chewbacca plush?

Really disappointed with how this turned out.

They were too busy keeping it a secret to bother advertising for it.

I never got my raise?

So, I'm the new signing Specialist at my store. My trainer told me I was going to get a $1 raise. That's what she received when she took the position last year. When I was officially keyed in I checked the next pay stub to find that I did not receive a raise. I talked to my VML because she used to be HR and my STL overheard and told me to get with the HR ETL about it.

I went to my HR ETL and he printed out my paystub and highlighted where I was to receive my raise. He gave me .50¢. I took what I could get. I didn't fight for the dollar.

I got paid this week and noticed that my check didn't really have a significant change. I checked pay & benefits and it still says I'm still at my regular wage.

I am going to talk to my STL about this. My question is, should I fight for the dollar at this point? Is that what you're raise was. I'm sure I've seen a lot of people mention a $1 raise in their signing position. I know the older signing fellow received a $2 raise but I think that's pushing it.

I would definitely say you were told $1 raise. However, depending on what pay grade your trainer was before taking over signing might have affected the raise they got so theirs might have been more if they were two pay grades lower than signing. Yours may have only been 50 cents if you moved up one pay grade (not sure what role you moved from). I was Plano before taking over signing which was only one pay grade lower than signing so I only received a 50 cent raise. I have only heard of new TLs getting $1 raise.

Also, a 50 cent raise is really only going to bump your paycheck up by about $40 if you are getting 40 hours weekly.

You have a TM telling you what kind of raise you're going to get? TMs have basically no say in what other TMs are compensated. If you bring that up, you're just going to get your trainer in trouble for giving you an unreal expectation. Another signing TM getting a 2$ raise? That's borderline unbelievable. Pay increases when changing positions are all based off of pay grade. What position were you in before signing? AFAIK, there are no more specialist positions, the signing position reverted back to TM status a few years ago. If your ETL-HR told you that you would receive .50 more and it's not on your pay stub, that's definitely an issue. Make sure you get back pay for time you spent as the Signing TM.

I was an electronics team member before moving to signing. G my trainer was HL/Service Desk before signing and received her $1 raise. K was signing before her and he moved to signing from electronics and he received a $1 raise. L received a $2 pay raise but he had special arrangements made.

I did revieve a raise in my review back in March.

I was told I was keyed in late and that's why my raise was late last paycheck. I was told I was supposed to get my raise as well as back pay in this paycheck but I have yet to receive anything other than my electonics wage these last two paychecks.

Hardlines and GS is 50 cents less than electronics. So if you were electronics then you would get a 50 cent raise based on what you are saying about the GS/Hardlines TM getting a $1 raise.

Unless your store just makes pay raises up as they go along, which my store has been known to do. I was told I would get a big raise if I went to signing even though my previous position was the same pay grade.

Hurricane Irma has the potential to hit me.

I'm in the purple zone.

Give me ideas on what to do if I get stuck at the store.
