MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

You are all making me very grateful my Christmas pallet, gifting pallet, and regular pallets have all arrived already. I'm not allowed to build anything from them though so next week, I'm royally fucked.

I built my 2 of my Amplified Gifting shippers, and since my STL refused a Trailer to my ETL. My Fixture room is a safety hazard. Oh well, I can only do with what i was given, and I was given an unsafe situation by my STL. So if he raises hell, this might be my first hotline call.

Advice: viking clips instead of snap rivets on the wrap bins.
I learned that tip myself years ago when I first took over signing during the Christmas set. Snap rivets are the worst clips ever sent to Target, they just fall apart the second any pressure is added onto the shippers they are put in. Now I only use them if they send the large kind, or if they are for the small circular plastic bins that sit on shippers. Always save your extra viking clips and christmas tree clips, they are soo useful.

Ugh thank god someone agrees with me. Seriously; snap rivets are absolute garbage.

I've never had a huge issue with the snap rivets. I learned they work quite well if you pop the female part thru all your layers first, then attach the male part.

I don't use the Viking screws for wrap bins because the roll wrap can catch on it and rip.

I thought about building a couple gifting tables and leaving them in the fixture room, but then figured if the STL wants to screw over productivity next week, that's on her. So I left them alone. And will wait on building until asked to do so.

I got ALL of my christmas signing on the last possible day. I'm supposed to get my supplies on monday DC! MONDAY!

We were sweating pretty bad there.

I usually don’t have as much of a problem with them but it wasn’t happening for me this time, even female first.

The wrap bins are different this year (yay). There’s not really a way for the rolls to catch on the vikings unless you’re using the extra long ones or something.

Consuming a lot of Monster and Rockstar over the period of two weeks and working my ass off to finish things :D
I have been preparing for Christmas since the beginning of the month.

I have a small bit of signage for next week. The only backlog signage are waiting on fixtures to come in.

Spent hours yesterday moving all the shelves to where they are right now just so people don't ask me to bring them down during the TAT set.

Just need the open-top to knock out the overhead signage project, and that backlog will be 100% complete.

Christ.
Seriously, mine is the size of our womens public restroom. Its that small.

This is when you mention that amplified gifting doesn't mention the Signing TM specifically, building it all.
And then say, this is why A&A has their paygrade. Nowhere in their End to End does involve you, the Signing Specialist, who is not a Specialist, ignore the fact, that your title in the store, is the only one that has "Specialist" in it.
Sad but true. Spot did this. Time to eat that blue buffalo.

Cool. I'll come into work in a tank top and my shorts and unpack it and go home.

If it comes on Friday that is.

I have two shelves of empty steel space and a very clean fixture room this is what I have trained for I am READY

Seriously Christmas at my store is gonna go so smooth
May the odds ever be in your favor!

Fucking dtl and vmdtl visited yesterday. Everything has to stop to get them built. With TAT and H&H setting plus remodel trailers going away next week and at least five pallets of ism that needs to go up but only three days to set it in....
my VMdtl is named ian and he reminds me of Tim Gunn. 'Make it work' Not that old thought.

Anybody else build the maven shipper for next week? Mine was missing two of the support bars, a lot of the hardware (xmas tree clips etc), and the instructions. Wondering if it's just my luck again.

Nah, only 8% ready at my store. Too little product.

48hour challenge lmao Ive built 2 ornament bins and most of the centerpiece tree. We're setting the aisles tomorrow. We condensed to one aisle of costumes and three of decor.

Amplified Gifting Pallets are about the size of a small SUV
Speaking of pallets the size of a small SUV, we found the Christmas pallet at the end of the trailer today (along with two more signing pallets). Extra wide and as tall as the door...

where the fuck does this directional sign go? Pic in signing update shows halfway down rtw outside wall at racetrack break but no actual indication that's correct...

I always end up putting it at the Fitting room corner of the store above the race track. I don't even have my Christmas Directionals yet............

I just set one directional in the middle then the others in the corners. The map is never right for our layout anyway.
