MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Who else have signing pallets that have toppled over inside the delivery truck. I say a prayer of thanks when it is still intact. Another prayer is needed that we can get the Leaning Tower of Tar jay of the trailer and up against a pole or wall before it tumbles over. Seriously where do I my support this issue. I don't need this shit going into 4 qtr.

Last time my pallet was all over the truck the flow team lead took a picture and I think she dealt directly with the D.C. , they've been better since.

When I left Thursday I also hadn't received mine, either, and I am off until tomorrow. After this new pay grade news, I could care less about anything Softlines related.
I had a visit Friday, coupled with remodel. Guess who HAD to get as much softlines, especially joy lab done?

Oh wonderful. Well I glad that we, who are taking care of an entire department and support so many more work centers are getting shit on.

Support the entire department? we support the entire store.. Who makes sure we don't run out of all manor of Sale Signs, Labels, Fixtures etc. So that things can run smoothly, and we can actually advertise our sales. Who makes sure arguably the most dangerous room in the store, is the safest? (Not even sure what the protocol is in Earthquake prone areas lol!)

Also don't forget "Evidence shows, Displays increase a product's sales by 20%!!!"

I get called in my store everyday more often than the LOD (probably twice as much) just to answer questions/fix problems. How many times I have heard "You're never allowed to have a day off again", after 1 day off. I am very torn between immediately asking to step down, when this inevitable awkward closed door conversation comes up".

If I get the "Your screwing us before Christmas, talk, I am going to say, look at it from my perspective. I just saw all my hard work and raises from the last 5 years of my life, go up in smoke, I can step down now, and earn the same amount (which is now only a dollar over minimum, but with knowledge and experience WAY more than makes up for it). If I get less hours it will allow me to get a second job, and earn more than I am now, with literally at least half the work, and giving me a life where paying my car loan, college loans, and rent, means I have to skip lunch everyday because I can't afford it. Now tell me again who is getting screwed here?

I honestly don't for a second, think that my ETL or TL would blame me.

Shit I could go back to Market (where I was a PA, and run circles around the entire department).

I can also say, for certain that any A&A team with a worth of salt, would GLADLY take any former Signing Spec, in a second.

Kind of ironic how all my stuff says "Signing Specialist".

I dropped the Joy Lab sign box off at the fitting room and walked away. Will it go up anytime soon? Probably not.

I was off on sunday (when all the signing arrived). Someone in Softlines attempted to build the Tall mannequin Sign, apparently. They finished it, and it was completely wrong, so I had to disassemble it, and then rebuild it. If I stay Signing it will be the last Soft lines sign other than anything labeled "CSE", that I touch, and when they call me for help, I will ignore them.

There won't be any conversation about raises for signing TMs since you won't be getting one. Only TMs who get further raises will be called into the office. Unless you meant you would initiate the conversation.

I have kept silent, today, but I am quite sure, it is going to come up. Especially since the signing at the Fitting Room is already pilling up. It's not the discussion of raises, it is the discussion of pay grades. I believe they would have to have to discussion with you if your pay grade changes, whether that is monetarily or not, it is your place within the company. If not, you bet your ass I am going to initiate. As it is my right to do so.

Tell that to my STL who seems to believe that the FOS signage for Halloween will determine whether or not we make sales goal.

Were you Signing last Christmas? I honestly can't remember, but that FOS Sign my GOD. I am not religious, but I did thank Jesus when I came in the next day and it didn't bring down the roof. (Was my first Christmas).

Imagine a Cart Attendant, putting that up, above Guests heads as they first enter the store. That is what we are now.

I heard a lot about that. But no. I joined Signing right after Valentine's Day this year.

Mine was more concerned about the new Brand overheads and wanted me to hold off as much as possible. On my last day of the week me and my ETL came up with the idea of pulling the FOS signing for the new brands amongst their respective areas.

Was a hit, but more importantly I got to use the Wave more.

I have mine saved aside for this, especially in furniture. Do you remeber the giant threshold signing on both sides of the department when it changed from target home?

Nah, I was still worried more about Butterball turkeys, and Strawberrys at the time, i think. Keep the new at target arrow signs, and then make sure you position a broad light (not spotlight, they reflect off the signs where you can't even see it) onto the brand name. It looks nice. If no one asked you to save them go to your stl and say "I have an idea". lol

I fucked up with the new brand FOS signage lmao. I thought it was two boxes of the "new and only at Target" black signs.

Yeah turns out I was wrong on that. Saved me a bunch of time.

Judging by the Christmas Backer Paper and top toys signs I do not think they are changing much this year, which means the FOS could be damn near the same (except maybe the Wording). But, prepare for it, because I didn't and that one FOS sign took up damn near 90 wires. If your confident enough (to wrap everything back up without losing anything) I would rip open the sign box and grab the directions, show your TL the directions (as soon as you can) so they know what you are in for.

(the picture last year looked like a perspective graphic, but ended up being like a 12x30 foot (In sheer volume, not in wide, or height, but Both! :D) Monster. It said 45 minutes, on the time it should take. And took me and our strongest Plano person 5 hours. On friday on that 48 hour challenge bullshit.

Got it done, 1 hour before open, only to realize we missed an important part they should have told you 40 pages back. We both vowed not to say a word, and nothing was said. :D

Just tell them that the Softlines team is responsible for their own signs under the E2E model. Doing softlines work is a specialist job that is above your pay grade.
