Red vests today give these out to a lot of us in DC during break, thin slice of cake in a sandwich bag, meanwhile they slap all of us to do 50-60hr MOT this week and this is our "Christmas bonus", `nice pat on the back`

Honestly prefer they didn't give anything, this is insulting but that's just me

This sounds like a leader went out of their way to procure (either buy or baked themselves) some poundcake (and certain places make really good poundcake) and wanted to share with everyone. Is it what you deserve? Probably not. I would find out who supplied and where it's from and let them know it was good and that you appreciated it.

If they bought it from Walmart or big-brand grocery store on the p-card, then yeah, f-them.

"Let them eat cake" comes to mind (whether or not Marie Antoinette really said it). @StaticSun is right about some pound cake being really good, but having it served on a plate with maybe some fresh berries and whipped cream is better than a slice in a zip bag.

Honestly prefer they didn't give anything, this is insulting but that's just me -- I get it. When I worked for a different company, the boss sent me a hand-written note. Nice, right? Well, it was done in such a rush that there were words missing and other words misspelled. Kind of felt like if she couldn't take a bit of care to write a coherent note with correctly spelled words, maybe just don't bother?
