Archived STL from outside company

Is it common for Target to hire a STL from outside the company or is it mainly promotions from within?

Not common to get an outside hire.

I believe my STL was. He was a store manager at a now non-exist other chain of stores. He's been with Target since the '90s or early 2000s if I'm not mistaken.

They usually start as an ETL even with previous retail store management experience.

Mine is from outside Target but I notice most are former ETLs with high ambitions.

There was one outside hire in my district. Only beccause she was a dm at another company.
