Silly question...how do I know on the target app if a store is a super target? I’m on vacation and I don’t know the area so I want to make sure before I go. I can only see that it says fresh grocery but my non-super target with groceries also says that. One says it has optical and i have only see
That in super targets but I’m not sure if that’s always the case.

All stores have been unified under the regular Target branding. If you really need to know the difference, if you call the store it'll say, "Hi, thanks for calling the [CITY NAME] [Super/Greatland] Target store. Our normal store business hours are...." and then go to the phone tree. Non Super Target stores can have optical departments as well.

Supertargets have a deli and bakery. Idk if the app says that or not.

I do see it in the app on a known Super Target, when I click "more info" on the store. I can't search for locations that have those amenities, though. And that's what I really would want to see. I don't want to have to click through a dozen or more stores to find the one that has the features I want.

It does not.
OMG, do you any of you play Geoguessr? A custom Target Geoguessr map could be pretty entertaining.

Nice! But my known ST mentioned above is not listed.

@SmilesWI or @SFSFun if it's something either of you guys want I'd highly suggest asking the app devs to implement it in the contact us/give app feedback section. they've done that for tons of my suggestions.
I don't actually care as I don't live near any. But I stand corrected because it actually does mention in the app if it's a super target and has a deli and bakery. I was looking at the website, which does not mention those features.

Doesn't list the known Super that I was looking at for reference.

The info section for a store will say SuperTarget if it’s a SuperTarget
I could have sworn it didn't show up on the website the other day, only on the app. But checking the same store again, it definitely shows it on the website too.

Edit: Ok I wasn't imagining it. It definitely changed today.

if anyone needed proof they read this site...this is is... IF TARGET IS READING THIS:there's no need to list supertarget as a feature... having a bakery and deli are what make it a supertarget. just list bakery and deli.

There's more to it than that. They have an overall much larger grocery selection. If they aren't going to put SuperTarget in the store name (they should), then listing it in the details is the next best thing.

the obvious solution (at least, for TMs) would to just make the store number like this

reg target: T-1234
Super target: ST-1234
Target Express TE-1234

Why? it's one letter and then anyone who looks at the number instantly knows what type of store it is
Why would TMs specifically need to know what type of store it is? And I'm fairly certain that small format stores have store numbers in the 3000s anyway. Even DCs have a T-number.

If you wanted to differentiate the stores, it would be best to do it in a way that both guests and TMs can tell the difference, and the most obvious would be to just put it in the name of the store. So that example I listed above would be called the McKinney SuperTarget.
