The senior corporate treasurers who give grants are the reason why Target is failing miserably in public perception. A recent report stated they gave a grant to the NDN collective in 2022. This grantee wants to demilitarize The violent United States military among other questionable objectives. However Target supports veterans. The treasurers are trying to play both sides while trying to maximize profits. This strategy will fail in today's world. I believe most people can be helped thru established food banks and housing coalitions. Keep it simple stupid treasurers and give grants only like this or keep making fools of yourselves so the stock spirals downward.

Lots of agencies apply for assistance and you can vote for them in the target circle app. That might how more random ones get assistance.

Wouldn't it just be easier to take 100 million and donate that to every food bank/housing assistance to every state in the country every year ?

Talk to your receiver and find out how many food banks your store helps. Encourage your local housing agencies to apply for assistance from target.

Donating money to a food bank is a terrible idea. You are doubling their cost to aquire food at retail cost (with taxes now) instead of directly giving food.
Besides, Every single food bank was so well stocked my DC shipped pallets of food 1,000 miles away to get rid of it. Not exagerating.
The current model is working just fine.
