Printing the autofill on receipt tape and looking for the items.
The RF apps menu on the LRT only having 2 items on it, you had to type in the name of the program to get into anything else.
Manually ordering grocery trucks.
Having only 5 closers in Hardlines on a weeknight was considered understaffed.
Staying until 2am to finish the zone.

Oh my gosh! THIS. I remember these days. People can't even take down ad correctly anymore. It's not hard to rip a sticker off guys.

Ice cream for the closing zoners. Huddles involving games. Equipment available for everyone. And for effs sake.... ZERO BACKUP WAS NEEDED AT THE LANES. Cashiers would help the salesfloor, not the other way around.
We are a super target and there was cake and cupcakes in the break room last night

When back up was so rare that if called you had to change work centers before ringing up. And pagers instead of walkies.

Our break room usually has ice cream on standby.

#TodaysTMsWillNeverKnow what it's like to have your store actually feed you every month, and spoil you during holiday season with Buffalo Wild Wings... Panera... California Pizza Kitchen... Boston Market... Actual Subs (not that plastic rubber looking one)... just to name a few....

Also... neon lighting and gray walls, enough said?

#todaystmswillnever know - that there was a point in time long ago when you there was not schematic on the pi label and you didn't use a pda, mydevice to push the truck and or pulls. There was also a point in tme where there were not autofills....as a backroom tm you were given certain areas on the floor to go out and scan everyday. Also, there was a point in time where the TEAMLEADS- shot the research for their area. They also had to push it ( shocker)

We still had the neon splash on our walls less than five years ago.
In fact, despite being a store that is consistently performing well in many categories and has been gaining sales steadily for the last few years, many aspects of my store remain a time capsule. Many transfers are quick to point out how outdated and ugly certain things are.

The tall cabinets for PS games in electronics with the built in sample systems in the middle of the aisle.

miniature tents in the sporting goods displays.

This one predates me, but tagging soft lines upon store receipt.

That sounds like a wonderful time to go back to, except for the no PDAs or myDevice to push.

Having to put on license plates with the defectives. You know...those stupid red, yellow and green stickers that had to go on every defective with the printed defective sticker?
I was talking about this with another GSA earlier this month!

When they called it Target Time when they needed additional TM to back up the cashiers.
When Target only sold women's dresses at Easter and softlines had to change watch batteries.

You'd think after two years things would have "normalized"... but with the new CEO and current situation they've all accepted this as normal, and don't give us the "credit card hack" excuse anymore. I'm in Cali and the minimum wage has raised to $9 an hour.. but Wally world has already bumped employees to $10. Finding anyone to stay is nearly impossible, especially the "good" ones. Fourth quarter this year is going to be a joyride.

When Electronic team members had to sell contract phones. Worst thing ever. Especially since we weren't trained on it, had to do it through the POS, and T-Mobile never approved anyone.
