So I just wanted to get some input from someone who knows HR policy...
I'm trying to switch from GSA to a Guest Service TM role, since I'm looking for another job right now, and I want to eventually make the shift from full-time to part-time (weekends). Right now im on a corrective action for a NCNS (was over 2 hours late for work, called in and showed up for my shift though), and they said that because of that they wouldn't allow a transfer of work areas.... This logic seems really messed up to me, because that should really only apply for promotions or lateral transfers.
My store is pretty stingy with positions, we only have 2 GSAs and they use us as GSTLs on the cheap, I just feel like theyre trying to prevent me from leaving my position since I'm always told that I perform very well.
Anyways I ended up just dumping my captainships since they aren't actually part of my core roles, and my GSTL said they would cut my hours down to only 2 GSTL shifts per week (16-17 hours). But she couldn't schedule me anymore than 16 hours in other work areas because I need 50% of my hours as GSTL. One of my former GSTLs said that GSA is an auxillary role, and cashier/service desk would apply under it since its part of Guest Service workcenter..... I was also told I couldn't pickup shifts from the swap shift board to make up for my lost hours, and they would not be approved.
Anyone think an appeal to the ETL-HR/STL would help?
And yeah.... I'm starting to freaking hate the Glee Target TL Squad.....
