Lol I'd agree with Rarejem... More than Style TM but definitely less workload than Style TL.

Our VM is a close partner with the Style TLs. Plan workload, distribute ISM (albeit to the wrong teams pretty often), and validate VMGs and other large sets. Send photos to group office/VMD often. Rearrange/remerchandise or reset entirely when needed to make a given floorpad presentable.
 
VM is paid the same as a TM with no promise of promotion, it’s a gamble.
 
VM at our store is a TL, but has no team and does the work alone, concentrating on softlines and signing. There's not a "close to TL" pay. You're either a TM or a TL.
The original post said they were paid the same as a TM. We do know that not all TL’s are paid the same based in their experience.
