I just started watching The Orville on Fox. It's not a bad show. Kinda like a cross between the Classic Star Trek and The Next Generation. With a lot more humor.

Russian Doll started off OK but kinda went downhill. I predict no second season.

I have to say I really enjoyed Russian Doll.
The characters were interesting and their arcs were satisfying.
It wasn't really a puzzle for too long if you have read enough science fiction or watched enough genre fiction but the effort to fix the problem was well done.
A second season would have to be new people I guess, which would be sad because I really liked the female character - she kind of ticks off my boxes for a friend.

I loved Dead Like Me.
I haven't watched Russian Doll yet.

I'm guessing they are similar?

Not much at all.
Russian Doll starts out as a Groundhog Day premise with the characters restarting at a certain point every time they die, which they do quite often.
The challenge is for them to figure out why and how this is going on.

I've seen fan discussion of same actors, different characters, like American Horror Story. Which could be interesting.

Yeah, to be honest part of the reason I was so stuck on Russian Doll was how much the main character reminded me of my wife.
Jewish, redhead, foul mouthed, too smart for her own good and often the smartest person in the room, raised by a psycho, serious coding skills, multilingual, doesn't suffer fools easily and loves her cat.
Except for the smoking, so many things like her.
Damn I miss her.

Watching this Hulu tv series “The Act”

At the core of the series is a warped and deeply broken mother-daughter relationship. Dee Dee (Patricia Arquette) deeply loves her daughter, Gypsy Rose (Joey King), but Gypsy is very, very sick, and Dee Dee has sacrificed or abandoned everything about herself that isn’t caring for Gypsy’s every need.

I’m hooked on this true crime story
Patricia Arquette is fantastic and should win an award as the mother. It is hard to even recognize her.
also stars Chloë Sevigny as the neighbor

I am so fucking stoked for the next season of this show. I just wish Youtube would make these available for purchase instead of their fucking subscription service.

It surprised me, for sure... the way the roles seem to have reversed somewhat.

Stuck on mystery shows on Hallmark right now. Aurora Teagarden. Loved Garage Sale Mysteries. Then that got canceled when Lori screwed that up.

I’m also watching this. Joe King is doing a great job. And yes, I definitely did not recognize Patricia Arquette. It threw me off when I saw her name in the credits.
