Archived Why does my job application sometimes expire BEFORE 60 days, but this time they told me I actually have to wait 60 days?

Is the 60 day rule only strictly enforced if you had an interview in the exact store, but were turned down and want t reapply for a different position in that same store?

I've been turned down WITHOUT interviews and when I call HR they're more than happy to manually expire my application right away.

And after a DIFFERENT Target store turned me down after an interview, they gladly manually expired my application so I could apply to a DIFFERENT Target store. And I unfortunately was turned down after the interview at this Target store, and when I called to ask if I could reapply for another position, they told me I have to wait 60 days to reapply now (and I've been unemployed for 4 months now, so I don't want/can't just wait for that, especially since employers typically refuse to hire anyone who's been unemployed for 6 months or longer).

I have had interviews at a Walmart store, and the two Targets, and was turned down after all three, and have not worked for four months now.

Target had no problem immediately manually expiring my application before (sometimes without me even asking!) but now they say I actually have to wait 60 days, what is with this inconsistent 60 day waiting period rule?

I don’t know if things have changed since I left, but there is no manual expiration. We either moved you into potential or turndown. Or we could transfer your app to another location. But you can only apply once every 60 days. Your application stays on file for 60 days regardless of if it’s put in turndown or not.

To be honest this time a year it’s super easy to get a job at target so there definitely another reason they’re not telling you. I would move on.
