Archived Can two Team Leaders family members work at the same store?

I’ve seen a married couple who were both TLs in the same store. One was backroom and the other GSTL. And in my current store we have a TPS whose mother works in softlines. We have a large AP team, so it isn’t much of an issue. Plus TPS generally doesn’t deal much with internals.

Only safety issues can be coached off cameras/video.

    Archived Team Member Discount

Store level AP can certainly initiate the investigation if they feel like something is up. But it’s corporate (Investigations Center, IC) who actually watch the discount stuff actively. Their systems will flag suspicious transaction activity, including possible misuse of discounts. That...

    Archived “Guest” Harrassment

Technically your AP can trespass him if they want to. But if I were you I would contact the local PD.

What in your opinion is the worst thing Target has ever sold?

If I remember correctly the pog said it was supposed to be placed near children’s toothbrushes as well. At least in my store.

Archived Backroom ETL told me I'm about to get fired in 1 week

Three things.... 1. The only offices that has cameras that record are the AP and cash office. I doubt they pulled you in either of those for a talk. 2. AP offices, in my experience don’t have public view monitors. Cash offices do, but again I doubt they pulled you in that office. 3. Target...

Archived How many trucks and how big does your store average?

I’m not apart of the log team anymore. But triples during BTS and 4th quarter are a regular basis at my store. Overnight process is a must.

Archived Screwed up majorly today, am worried about getting fired.

K1 scams are nothing new. I’ve seen them for as long as I’ve been in AP. I would be cautious anytime a guest tells you how to do your job. To be honest the cashier training Target offers is......eh. I don’t think you should be fired for this. But I think better training across the board for...

Archived Ever found out a coworker led a secret life?

I can’t remember if I was still seasonal or sometime after becoming a regular hire, but.... Was watching the news one day and saw one one of my fellow TMs. Dude got arrested for child porn possession. Let’s just he didn’t make it work that night or ever again.

    Archived Scanning Laws

Pricing laws do exist. Most states have divisions (Weights and Measures) that ensure businesses aren’t misleading or false advertising. They check many different things like price labels, produce scales at the registers, and even gas pumps. Violations in some states could lead to the business...

Archived Can a TPS make a stop?

It used to be okay for a non-SR TPS to make the initial stop if instructed by someone that was app certified. I did it several times as a regular TPS. It was a grey area if the app certified person had to be there soon after in order to escort the person back to the office. Depended on who you...

Archived CEO Pay Watch: Target's Brian Cornell made $19.2 million in last fiscal year

This is what he brought to the company.... Like it or not he’s there so the shareholders make money. If they didn’t he wouldn’t be there anymore.

    Archived .

Beauty, and to a lesser degree jewelry, are my least favorite areas to watch for shoplifters. The items are so small which means the likelihood of a bad stop (concealed, but then dumped, no merch) increases. Unless it’s an obvious amount or repeat offender I usually prefer for the guest service...

That’s $64 for a year. If your car is junk I doubt that would make a difference.

    Archived Non-rehireable for Misconduct

It really depends. Most of the time I see it, it involves small amounts like $5 or $10 promo gift cards. Larger amounts usually do result in termination, but those cases usually have other theft involved as well. Also 8 years ago the economy wasn’t as great and Target had a bigger pool of...

    Archived Non-rehireable for Misconduct

Theft of promo gift card from a guest is an HR issue, not really AP. We do investigate it though. I don’t want to encourage people to do it, but I will say it very rarely gets you fired on a first offense. If you’ve otherwise have been a good employee and they think it was a one time mistake (I...

Archived Stupid things people have been fired for at your store?

Food consumption (stolen food) on the clock is considered to be an HR issue by Target. It takes a lot longer to term TMs for that. Not that I agree with it.

    Archived Fired for "theft"

Maybe you should test that theory. Target has an entire forensic lab dedicated to retail theft. $100 for a covert camera is pennies on the bottom line.

Not off limits. But also unlikely.
