Hello All --
In lieu of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and the forced labor that Target requires on this holiday I thought I would share what the average yearly salary is of Target Employee's. I hope this opens up a discussion, particularly if you knew about this salary and if you think it's fair. I know this forum has a large diversity of team members from management down. (All reported salaries are from glassdoor.com)
Just for an example on how these compensations compare to other professions:
AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Persons in family/household Poverty guideline
For families/households with more than 8 persons, add $4,060 for each additional person.
1 $11,670
2 15,730
3 19,790
4 23,850
5 27,910
6 31,970
7 36,030
8 40,090
So if you're a team member supporting a family of three you are already at the poverty level. I do want to clarify on something, not matter what the situation is we are blessed to have a job since others out there do not. However, if Target requires so much work and sacrifice of their employees especially that of team members their pay should be around $13-15 an hour. Costco average for a cashier is $15.80.
I hope that all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, many of us are blessed and we have a loving family by each of our sides. I hope that Target can be an example of responsibility and fairness for the assets that make this company succeed: Their employees.
