It's an option for upper level Biblical classes, but not required unless one plans on going into academia. As you could imagine, the choices are Biblical Hebrew or Greek. If I do a language, I'm leaning towards Greek. So to answer your question: I haven't, but I might.

Update 2 Second semester has drawn to a close and I have officially completed year one of my studies! Just 2 more to go. Now I have a few months of Summer to relax and come Fall semester, I (hopefully) will be going to South Korea for a student exchange. Side note, the Target where I have...

    Archived Starting seminary soon.

Hey everyone. It's been about little over 2 months but I figured I would stop by and give an update. School's great so far. Lots of reading and writing, but that's to be expected. I have a 20 page paper due towards the end of November, but I've already gathered the majority of my sources. The...

    Archived Starting seminary soon.

A little while back, I posted a thread about taking a leave, and not knowing whether or not I would return to Spot. Well, I finally got my answer. I was accepted into an MDiv program at a Seminary and, wouldn't you know it, there are no Targets in the town I'm going to (or in any of the...

Archived Orientation: Are You The Only One Left?

Well, I took my leave about 2 weeks ago, and of my entire seasonal orientation team, I lasted the longest at 3.5 years with Spot. Heck, I was one of maybe 2-3 people from that seasonal year to make it past the 3 month mark.

Archived Not quite a notice, however...

...I did put in an LOA that was approved today. It has gotten to the point where I need to take a break from Spot. Things have been seemingly getting worse at my particular store and I (along with many others) feel as if we are entirely inconsequential. Given too many duties with too little...

Archived over the $9.00 minimum pay

Oh, I know. It's just that my particular store seems to have a fairly high turnover rate and many (if not most) of the TMs would be willing to quit. I just wonder what would happen if a large number of TMs gave their 2 weeks in a short timeframe?

Archived over the $9.00 minimum pay

Based on what I've seen, the only person at my store who really seems to care (aside from TMs) is the HR TL. No one else in an executive position that I've asked seen to really care. Although, they probably should; a couple of TMs have made it no secret that they plan to give their 2 weeks.

Archived So I might have made a big mistake.

Yeah, it is weird. However, by this point, I'm just going to be more aware and alert about things. Be more assertive to pushy TMs and the like. Since HR said not to worry about it, I'm going to be more aware of my surroundings and keep an eye out just in case.

To that one GSTL: Good God, you are so freaking fake! You make jokes with guests and other TMs, only to be snide and passive aggressive behind their backs. Or to their face, only to be like "I'm just kidding". You are about as real as Sweet'N Low and you're not as popular as you think you are.

Archived So I might have made a big mistake.

Update: I spoke with the HR ETL about the situation and s/he said not to worry about it. S/he doesn't really consider what I did "working off the clock" (since I didn't directly help a guest; like using a cash register or retrieving an item from the back room) and that it was more of an issue...

As soon as possible tomorrow, I'm going to my HR (or an ETL if HR is not around) and will tell them about what happened. That I screwed up and didn't know what the hell I was thinking,

Thanks for the responses. I truly hope that termination doesn't come from this. Like I said, nothing like this has happened before. Let's just hope that if management did notice, that they're merciful. Also, I have no idea why I even listened to the GS TM. Maybe it was the lack of sleep (I'm...

Archived So I might have made a big mistake.

In my 3.5 years at Spot, I have never made any mistake that has made me as worried as I am now. I'm more than willing to speak with an LOD if needed, but I need some advice for the time being. It would be TL;DR if I typed it in paragraphs, so I will put it in bullet points: I worked from 4am...

Archived How difficult is it to transfer?

Yesterday I officially made my request to transfer and applied for a position at a Spot in Cincy. HR said that they would do everything they could to try and convince the other HR to let me go through. Now we play the waiting game.

To that one team member: I was making small talk when I asked the AP "what do you mean by busy" after s/he replied to my "How's your day going". I know what the word "busy" means, but I don't know what AP does on a daily basis. I'm not up at the front lanes where s/he generally is. Either way...

    Archived Review Grades this year...

*rant time* Well, I got my review yesterday and while I shouldn't be surprised, I am a bit disappointed. Despite trying my best, I got IE on everything except two areas. If it weren't for the jump to $9.00 an hour, I would still be under $8.00. The reasons for my getting an IE were complete...

There's 5 in the city of Cincinnati itself. There are a couple in the surrounding areas; including Kentucky.
