Will the ETL HR and/or HR Expert role will be eliminated with Store Modernization in low volume stores? The last related post I found was from 2017 which stated there was an announcement from HQ that some stores may lose an ETL HR in favor of a Sr HR TL. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! TIA

We have had 2 ETL HR come on board in the last 2 years since the TL talk a few years ago. So there's that. But even more you, of all ETLs, are in the enviable position of being able to move into an HR job at another company and have better pay and hours. The 2 ETL HRs that we lost went into amazing jobs from Target. I personally think Target should be a steppingstone to greater things unless retail hours work better, which is legit.

ETL HR and Logistics (whatever we call it now) are prime positions for great jobs outside Target, imho.

There are TLs and ETLs at low volume stores. It is reassessed every year per store. Hard to staff, poor culture, and store volume all contribute to the decision.

We have an ETL HR and a continuous stream of in and out HR TMs/TLs. We keep them for a few months, sometimes six or a year, and then we don't have one for a while until the next one comes along.

I'm surprised they don't combine ETL-HR with ETL-GE. People managers, just managing both the external people (Karen's) and internal people (TMs)

As of right now every time a ETL-HR leaves the position an evaluation is done on the store and metrics are reviewed to determine whether the store hires an ETL-HR or moves to a HRTL. If your in role you are fine. Based on the modernization roadmap there shouldn’t be any major workchart changes until 2021 unless your stores sales tank.

Right now the biggest change would be moving all HR’s to report directly to HRBP.

Under 30 Million you don’t earn one. Over 30 you do. If you’re under 30 now and still have one, you’re either considered a hard to staff store so you earn one on a case to case basis or you’re just overhead and won’t replace the position when he/she leaves
