Sales Floor Why are all the mannequins white?

At this point in the thread it’s hard to tell if we’re memeing or not, but I’m sure the real answer is that white mannequins are easier to maintain than other colors or glossy mannequins that higher end boutiques use. There’s literally a mannequin touch up kit on gocart that’s just white nail...

    Specialty Sales

Some stores exited Men’s Denizen last year and more are expected to do so this year as apart of the 2/18 Men’s update. I think in the long run Target will exit the majority of national brands in favor of their owned brand assortment.

    2023 New pilots?

Headcount for Specialty TLs is already so low. I work in a $65 store and we only get two. If we didn't have a Beauty TL we'd be screwed. I have a really hard time understanding how Target could justify adjusting the current headcount instead of adding, but also it's Target.

Sales Floor Let's meet in the Middle; an Electronics/Tech thread

Lots of stores have done away with this policy since it costs the company a pretty penny and there’s still profit to be made from selling Apple returns. My group’s policy is to put the items back on a secured shelf at first markdown.

    Storing Closing Times

Some people will remember when it was announced that we were going to to back to 11PM closing, but that was pushed back due to the Delta variant. There was an announcement in the SD COVID updates a few months later that stores would not be going back to an 11PM closing time. It's for the best...

    Not enough pallets

Are you at an SFS store? UPS would occasionally ask if we needed more pallets when they'd come to do pickups.

    2023 New pilots?

I haven't read the rollout guides but since I've heard things different ways I'm guessing that there are different pilots where some stores lose S&E and the SD owns that and stores where MerchOps and S&E both rollout with changes.

    2023 New pilots?

I don't think there's a good enough reason for them to do so.

    2023 New pilots?

Specialty has owned Home, Seasonal, and Domestics for nearly a year now. And moving Tech/Beauty over to GM just balances things out since GM would lose all Inbound operations and Fulfillment. They're already coded as "Essentials & Beauty" and "Hardlines" it a lot of the Greenfield cards, so...

Montels aka Movable Backroom Aisles not continuing

Ehh, I beg to differ. Feedback moves up the chain in lots of different ways outside of just the ETLs/SDs talking with the DSD. Could be feedback from Property Management, Remodel/NSO, AP, etc. HQ partners with lots of different aspects of the company and solicits feedback from all over.

    2023 New pilots?

I've heard some whispers of the return of some sort of Backroom team, but to what extent they would be involved I can't say.

Will Target ever adopt Apple Pay for RedCards?

No, because it’s more beneficial for Target to drive it’s own app.

Advice for Fulfillment Tl moving to Closing

Yep. Specifically because as a Closing TL I wasn't getting the district face time they felt was necessary, lack of overall department knowledge, and wasn't influencing my peers as much since they're mostly gone by the time I come in.

Advice for Fulfillment Tl moving to Closing

Was specifically told I couldn't do this. 😭 Never been so mad in my life at the time, but in hindsight I was able to fasttrack myself out of Closing just by voicing my want to move up.

    How Do You Feel?

I'm right there with you. Currently I'm getting ready to move departments (Closing to Specialty) and while I'm happy to be done with the impossible task of closing, I'm inheriting a mess of a new division that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. I fear it may be the final nail in my coffin.
