I think I have worked for six SDs during my tenure (not counting temp coverage.) Way too many ETLs to track.

I miss the team effort. Like flow, instocks, pricing, back room. We used to have fairly solid core teams. a few outliers, but there was a greater sense of team effort and comradery.

Yes. Target is dumb enough. Remember the red devices (apple?) that had a bad battery life and no way to change the battery?

I like setting a zoned Basics. Unzoned Basics is a nightmare.
