I think it's more life choices. Spend money on useless crap or put it in savings to try and build a better life for yourself and family. And sorry, but stealing is a hot button for me.

They are wanting cashiers to be confident sales people. Being decent at sales can be learned but it still takes the right personality, not to mention some kind of compensation for the extra effort. I have seen high level red card producers actually offered interview (and get much better jobs)...
