Our store gets 2 closing team members under closing hours. We chose 1 on the hardlines side and 1 on the softlines side. They are the same 2 people Monday through Friday.
According to the guide GM1 should be opens because they run unload. GM2 should have opens and earlies because they run unload on GM1s days off and oversee plano. GM3 should do mostly mids/ late mids because they oversee fufillment which is a later process. I believe there is a little wiggle room...
There will still be ways to get promoted up. We're still going to need TL's. I see a good place for bench candidates base model in electronics and beauty. Specialty sales departments that own an end to end process with no team lead. Good way to prove youve got what it takes to lead. :)
My store put strong TMs on during the meeting. A bench GSA in the front, a bench hardlines candidate running the floor, and good coverage on the floor. We 'll be fine.

Here's my advice... For reference sake, I've been a TL for 6 years and I was promoted from within after being a TM for 4 years. I'm currently mentoring a TL bench candidate and have mentored others in the past.
