Oh wow. I've never thought of that. I've only heard a few people talk about it like that, and if they do they always explain that it is a debit/credit card. Good to know though!

Here's what I do. I start with asking if they have any coupons or cartwheel they wanted to use before breaking the ice. Then, whether they do or don't I say "In addition/at least are you getting your 5% discount?" Or "are you using your loyalty card as well?" Guests are used to us saying...

I'm a GSA at a high volume Super Target and I'm curious to know what other GSA/GSTL's do to drive Redcards. My store does little games for the cashiers to participate in if they get a Redcard during their shift and I want to find new ways that will motivate the team.
