    Archived Physical abilities test

I'm in the middle of a transfer from retail backroom to dc, and am just waiting to get scheduled for a physical abilities test. So far, I've only heard rumors that I gotta lift a heavy box with a heart rate monitor attached. Can anyone shed more light on this and if I have to get above a certain...

Archived Adding a fill group for cafs

Could just be my state, since our stores are only approved for wine <5%abv or something like that...it comes in with our beer shipments and is treated as such.

Archived Adding a fill group for cafs

Since wine is a vendored product, there is no fill group, per se (if you try to sto it, it might come up as liqr or bev1/2), but since it's vendored, it shouldn't be located. Any backstock for it should remain in receiving. If holes need to be filled on the floor for a particular vendor product...

    Archived Forecast logic

I know that 50k of my stores 210k of missed forecast for Dec was because of neiman-marcus; the rest however is a big a mystery to me as anyone else. On the subject of the lower hours everyone's getting, I've been told by my TL's it's because of Spot's aggressive expansion into Canada, and the...

Archived Oops, our Backroom broke. Can we fix it? (BR advice please?)

Just remember to pay attention to your prompts on the gun; that alone should make your own personal error-rate go down. Also, use Shift+7 to save time; it allows you to toggle between 2 apps (im usually flipping between pull and sto or subt), though some functions un-toggle-able, like locu. On...

    Archived Back room Team Lead

Depends on if he's dayside or O/N BRTL. Im a dayside BRTM, so I cant really say much about O/N, other than they deal with the nightly Autofills and incoming truck BS. Dayside BRTL oversees BR, Instocks and Recv/RL. That means presiding over the Hourly CAFs, Research, most of the PTM's, RIGs...

    Archived Dating

The ones they keep on (whether at our store or elsehere), No.

    Archived Dating

To add to this, do ETL-interns count as ETL's as far as dating? We get some FINE interns at our store, but I've (so far) resisted the urge, assuming that they were looked on as ETL's

    Archived Import Warehouses

In the near future, I'm planning on making the move from store backroom to the DC-level, and in the course of my research, I found that we also operate 4 import warehouses (VA, GE, CA, and WA). Spot's website was pretty vague on what goes on there and the positions/type of work involved there...

    Archived Guest Survey Comments

To bring this thread back to port: "have dryers for the carts" I wasn't aware these existed....maybe just suck it up that it does in fact rain and snow sometimes? And when we were going through our PFresh remodel, we had plenty of gems to the tune of: 'stop moving stuff around', or 'no...

To that one Team Member I - ARCHIVED

To that one O/N team member who keeps taking wave down the light duty aisles and stacking boxes as high as you can go: You're damn lucky no one has fallen off a ladder trying to pull something down *knock on wood* Also, it's a fire code violation when boxes are stacked higher than the BR...

Archived Best quote ever by guest!

"Is this the freshest one off the truck?" -in reference to a plush toy chair for kids...I just stood there baffled for a second, trying to comprehend what the guest just asked. Wasn't aware that toys were suddenly fifo. In a moment of brillance, I just typed something random into RFapps, till it...

Archived Backroom help plz? Repeat question AGAIN

Our team has 7 people, and usually we just have a opener, a mid and a close, but for the holidays, we have an opener, 3-4 mids and 1-2 closers. When it's CAF time, everyone pulls, unless they drop under one hour in length (which almost never happens). BS'ing and other random batches are done in...

    Archived New Equipment

I know our store already has iPhones for store use and iPads for GS use already ordered. I'm hoping the new PDA isnt an iPhone, though. It's downright impossible to do CAFs effectively with an LPDA, so I couldn't imagine an iPhone faring any better. Plus, I don't think an iPhone could survive...

    Archived New Equipment

So I was talking to my BRTL today, and he mentioned our store getting a next-gen PDA/PDT unit (dunno the difference, always heard the term used interchangeably). All he knew was that we'd get them sometime during Q1/2 and that it's cell phone-sized with a passing resemblence to a Star Trek...
