"ETLs are supposed to do 30/60/90 day check-ins with new team members...." I actually brought up something like that with the ETL that interviewed me years ago but it never happened. However the ETL did bring up a guest that was stealing all vacuums. WTF!

Interesting about the pay steps. It looks like Meijer does followups too every six months with that. I have never understood why companies don't do followups with new hires after 3/6/9 months to see how things are going.

How long did it take to get the new job from the first contact and your start date?

I did mention this to my SD yesterday. The reply was that ETL does things by the book. She did ask whether those three TMs work directly under that ETL. I said no. You would think a new employee at any firm would try to keeps things chill for a while after just starting a new position.

Our new ETL finally arrived. However I had three TMs in different departments complain to me already. I haven't even talked to this ETL yet so I have no opinion.

I have noticed corporations drag out promoting people because they think you are not looking somewhere else. In a related matter I see companies that interview you but leave you hanging for weeks on end. You probably have my email address so just take a minute to reject me.

Do larger stores have more than one HR ETL?

"So no bench, no bullshit, just give me the job or no hard feelings, I'll find something else." The bench is so you don't quit and go somewhere else for a promotion. If I was in the bench I would wait six months ask for an update then start looking for another and leave after another six...

Does a HR ETL get rotated every two years or so? When our HR ETL transferred to a different store years ago it seemed more like a lateral move than a promotion. Also another HR ETL that left to a larger store I can't imagine being in charge of all HR due to lack of experience.

I had heard that but didn't realize it was salaried only.

So many corporations short change training but it comes back to haunt them later. As to not knowing the exact store I would think that depends on how large the district.
