We just print the upper locations and stick them on the underside of the steel at/near eye level where you're backstocking into that location. No running around looking for a book as it's right there at eye level for every upper location.

I dunno if it's in the job description, but our receivers will take care of anything going into a trailer (dunnage, repack pallets, plastic, etc.). We usually take care of it as Inbound, but if we take 3-4 trucks and things aren't 100% by the time they arrive, they do it.

Ideally, if you know you'll be out that far in advance, you should put your shift up for grabs. I dunno what your staffing is like, but we have people putting up their shifts all the time and others will take them, especially when hours are tight.

Our TL's always have a convo with TM's when they come back from a missed day, even if they used Sick Pay, mainly just to check in and see how they're doing. If SP is used, it's not a documented absence.

It's really as simple as sitting at the front door with a grid and marking people off as they exit the store (assuming it's not a full overnight process) to make sure everyone is out. (not the kid of course)

We use the montels for fulfillment/drive up stowing. Works great for that purpose. I helped a store get caught up in their trailers that had them for backstocking. Utter disaster.
